    I can't believe I tapped out so early. I'm such a lightweight.

I have no-shit carried that book around the goddamn planet since I bought it and still can't bring myself to finish it. It's dead weight. It's my albatross.

The first chapter, yes. The last three chapters, not really.

If someone is new to the BDSM genre and has no or very limited experience participating in it, yes.

Disagree. It's a terrible book in that respect. Yeah, it gets into pain and impact play, but at the same time, it doesn't address the issues of informed consent. Nothing about the scenes depicted in 50 Shades are safe or sane because of the way he ignores her ability to give and deny consent.

As someone who works light BDSM into my fiction, I understand that it's not a sexy part of the narrative to depict the groundwork necessary for informed consent, but I still think it ought to be done and shown.

Yes. The Beauty triology could be a little intense for those not used to BDSM, and MM sex factor is high. IRL much of the discipline/torture would be way too much, think injuries, especially given how frequently it occurs (little or no healing time).

A clarification: I mean as fantasy reading, definately not as a guideline. A person who hasn't experienced BDSM IRL might find the Grey series stimulating, while someone who has wouldn't.
