The missus is rather fond of The Pearl, a collection of Victorian erotica that involves much spanking and such euphemisms as "Purple headed warrior of lust" and "quivering love pudding" (I kid. That's from The Naked Gun, but those are the sort of thing they wrote.)

Those are amazing, but god forbid one goes to them thinking anything done in them is the slightest bit wise or safe. (And I appreciate my BDSM.)

Better than the Anne Rice Beauty books (in my opinion) are the books of Laura Antoniou.

I used to belong to a yahoo group years ago that she and her girlfriend ran. She was kind of a fascinating person.
Her books are heavy with the D/s and BDSM so if you're not into that kind of thing, you may not like them.
They are smart erotica. And hotter than georgia asphalt. :)

I went to the link ... LMAO ... within the second page of the preview "YOUR LORDLY PRIAPUS" ... I'm glad I wasn't drinking coffee when I read that. I get the feeling that Victorian Karma was satisfied as the author got the heroine dying of consumption at the age of 23. Almost like the the reader's introduced to 'died young and suffering', and that wipes the God's slate clean for subsequent accounts of raunch. Interesting if there is much Victorian erotic literature that has the heroes and heroines living long and healthy lives.

Earlier in the thread, I might have mentioned Brigid Brophy.
The science fiction and fantasy writer, Piers Anthony, has creative juices which become, from time to time, extremely hot.

I read it a long time ago, and erotic isn't the first thing that comes to mind, but hey, give it a try.

MM, I notice from the Link that she's heavily into Lesbian erotica. While I, and Mrs Hat, aren't put off by that, she (and it's usually her wot reads the Erotic fiction. I tend more to write it.) prefers hetero- or male homosexuality in her reading (again, over the lesbian stuff. That adds spice if the others are there too.) So, would you recommend some of her works that have a good mix of sexualities, please, and I would forward that on to the missus?

Yes, the entire Marketplace series is omnisexual. She won't be put off by anything in those books, unless she objects to D/s sexuality.

also, leather lesbian fiction is some of the hottest stuff out there. intense and threatening. if she gives it a try, she might find herself enamored of a new genre.

There is something about the writing of people who are essentially intellectual feminists when it comes to D/s fantasy. It's just hot and real. Seems more like reality than fantasy. There's no frou-frou fairytale fuss made about submission.

Speaking of Anne Rice, I always found Interview with a Vampire and Lestat very erotic, in a strange sort of way....

Since one of my threads ties into this earlier thread, and there's some good info here, it gets a bump.
