The thread about completely awful films got me thinking about the Golden Turkeys out there. When they are so bad they are good.
I will start with two well known entries that I both own and like
Plan 9 from Outer Space - Hubcaps for flying saucers, Tombstones that blow in the wind, Wood's chiropractor as a very poor stand in for the legendary Bela, what's not to love?

They Saved Hitler's Brain - This cinema classic has one of the 'best' car chase scenes ever. Bullit set the bar very high for these and this film sets it five stories underground. The light/time of day is constantly changing through the full cycle as it progresses. :)
This whole movie is a joke that still grabs your attention, even if only to see how just much more disjointed and tangled the 'plot' will become. Great choice to watch when you are looking for entertainment and not worried about plot holes big enough to fly a 747 through.

    You don't own me.

    ...

Golden Turkeys are something near and dear to my heart. I love horror flicks.

The Misfits, my favorite band, owe their entire discography to Golden Turkeys.

Mark of the Astro Zombies. Bloodfeast. Teenager from Outer Space. This Island Earth.

These movies are best consumed with friends on a couch and booze a la MST3K.

Basesketball. So much bad counterbalanced by the occasional brilliance, I own the dvd.

My favorite in le bad cine, is "No Retreat, No Surrender". Jean Claud Vann Damme's first flick, and man is it the "worst" martial arts flick, that's watchable, that I've ever seen. It's hard to come by, don't know if it's collectors, or if it's that bad...

If you want the ULTIMATE BAD, you should check out ANYTHING by the late, unlamented Cirio H. Santiago. A career spanning about 50 years, and his first films are about as atrocious as his last ones. Every single element of filmmaking is flawed in his films, from simple editing to nonsensical action sequences. Acting ability is always nonexistent, and each movie has plot holes large enough to orbit a planet through. Occasionally the music is off-key, too!

    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0379391/

If you made a drinking game out of his films, and had to take a drink each time there's some technical/story screwup, you'd be dead of alcohol poisoning before the movie ended.

In short, I highly recommend his stuff for a night of unintentional hilarity.

He made a film called "Blood Fist" and just had to follow it "Blood Fist II" a year later. Those sound like straight to video classics.

Anything with Don "The Dragon" Wilson, is guaranteed to be bad. Unless you mean a different Blood Fist...

No I was reading the IMDB list of his work.
The Fearless Vampire Killers could be considered in this category. Of course this film is also significant as it stars Sharon Tate just two years before her gruesome murder.

Dont forget Orgasmo and Cannibal! The Musical! to go along with Baseketball.

I've got to say, the "dude" scene in Baseketball is one of my all-time favorites. And some of the psych-outs are awesome. Then there's the rest of the movie.

Dude, Where's my car? - The inane plot holds it together worse than a thin roux and you get Brent Spiner in a very non-Data role. Check your brain at the door and it is not that bad at all.

Manos: The Hands of Fate is undoubtedly one of my all-time favorite bad movies. The film stock is cheap, the sound is out of sync, the opening is one giant boring piece of filler, the acting is somewhere between manure and cardboard, and the plot is ludicrous. I love it to bits.

I also own Troll 2 on blu-ray, if that says enough in and of itself.

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man was an almost reverse Golden Turkey, that came back around again, in my estimation.
When it first came out, I was just out of highschool and thought it was a great action flick.
Ten years later, I couldn't believe how much it sucked.
Now, it's once again a pretty good action flick.

I think I have decade pms, or something.

I think that was both of those guys best work... Roarke and Johnson, that is. A very entertaining flick, and one of the best buddy movies ever made. IMO

Plan 9 was an absolute classic. It is always good to watch for a laugh. If you enjoy B-movies like that you would love 2012: Ice Ageit is so awful, especially considering modern day special effects. It gave me a pretty good chuckle.
