Mine didn't require an annual fee and was supposed to take five business days.

True, but the annual fee comes with streaming content, free books, and other benefits. For less than $7/mo it's worth it (I renewed before the price jack). Even at $8.25/mo it's worth it. Honestly, it pays for itself in shipping alone with what we order from Amazon. Plus, there is tons of stuff that will get to my house in 2 business days despite the fact that I live 1.5 hours from the nearest major metro. ;)

I refuse to buy books from Amazon anymore, though. Powell's for life. Used, New, and Out of Print Books - We Buy and Sell - Powell's Books

I bet right this very second @ZombieSquirrel is narrowing down her list of compliments she owes me over our football bet....probably going to be hard for her to pick just three...

Hence why I no longer buy books from them. There are some things that cannot be acquired here without Amazon, unless I'm willing to pay through the nose elsewhere. Besides, I'd already paid for the Prime when that all started hitting the fan. Most of my book money goes to my local booksellers.

I try not to. I can usually get the same thing through "The Chain" here in Canada, but it might be a bit more expensive. The prices on books are usually fairly competitive online.

I ordered this online specifically because I saw it was in stock, and I wanted it sooner rather than later. It's the 2015 Writer's Market, and I need it to help a client target some publishers with his novel manuscript.

I didn't mind buying it because I should have it on-hand anyway. It's a useful who's who at the very least.

Also, it might entice me to eventually write something marketable. Once I see how easily I could become a hundredaire just by writing stuff, I'll be laughing all the way to my piggy bank. :p

So grateful to sit and be still. It was a very hectic day. A great day, but hectic!

Unless you're @ZombieSquirrel and you gut them like a fish with your scissors before you both have a chance to make up......

Saw the lunar eclipse this morning.
Excuse me, The Blood Red Moon. (Waahhoooooo....)

Up at 4:30, out at 5...it took until 6:30 for it to fully eclipse.
Too many lights in my area at first...then found another place (brought my dog) but that still had too many.
Then thought about an about to be apartment constructed field...and went there...Perfect.
Just chilled with a nice cup of coffee. (enjoyed the stars too...and the planes flying about)

It doesn't do for pics well...but it was interesting to watch with my eyes.
Just brings some meaning to the table.

I'm trying to figure out how much I'm willing to spend to go see Pearl Jam again next Friday. Last Friday was too good not to do it again.
