    The deeper I get into this manuscript, the more fucked-up the sentences. I should get them on the phone and force them to read this out loud to me to show them how ridiculous it sounds.

    In their defence, not everyone can write fifty-word sentences like Henry James could.

    UPDATE: Deleted ten words and conducted a major syntax shift. Boom! Cogent.
