I gotta be that guy, thats NOT what they are saying at all..

Its being nitpicky and pedantic. Its not saying "relax a bit" is saying "this is a wrong idea and shouldn't be used". For that I tell the assistant food editor who wrote the piece to lighten up.

But essentially, they are...because the people who micromanage like this are over-obsessing.
Thinking that they can compensate for whatever food they eat (good or "bad") by exercising more to remove it from their "ding" against them.

Let's just agree to disagree...we could go back & forth on this all day.
I got to get to the gym to work off my pasta I had for lunch. ;)

I've been semi-paleoing lately. I'm not 100% because I'm cheap and will finish all the non-paleo foods that I've already bought, as I transition to the new diet. Hasn't negatively affected my lifting yet, so that's good.

Still eating healthy and supplementing with AdvoCare products. I guess I'm 80/20 or 90/10 healthy/unhealthy. Weight is still coming off. 16 pounds so far. I'm pretty pleased. Now if my tendinitis would clear up I'd be a happy gal.

I've cut out a lot of junk.

I've added more EFAs through sardines and hemp seeds. I'm starting to eat more fruits and vegetables. I'm hoping to start a better regular habit of cooking meals.

No more of this training six hours a week but eating like a couch potato.

Did I mention my experience with fish oil lately? If I did, forgive me, tapatalk is being a bitch and not letting me search. I've been taking Barlean's Organic Fish Oil (1000mg orange-flavored capsules) 4 capsules, three times a day for a few months. It's high in DHA and EPA and such and there is no burping. Which is fantastic. My skin and hair are ridiculously healthy and, more importantly, my anxiety management has significantly improved. I don't have access to enough healthy fish out here. And I could never eat enough to get those levels of nutrients. Every athlete should at least read about it, in my opinion. Which is biased. ;)

Giving myself a little pat on the back for a few things:

    1. Actually making some relative healthy meals for myself in the past few days. Nothing spectacular, but I'm eating the produce that I've bought instead of letting it rot, which is an improvement over the past few months.

    2. Downloaded MyFitnessPal so I can accurately keep track of what I'm eating and what it's doing to me. Fun MyFitnessPal tidbit: it includes nutrition information balsamic vinegar from a local shop downtown that I've been using as salad dressing, and that's pretty cool.

Trying not to beat myself up too much over polishing off a 48oz container of ice cream over the past three days. Oops.

I'm meeting my workout partners for some heavy lifting this evening, and I'm looking forward to it.

    Current weight: 164.8
    Goal weight: 150

I've been eating healthy. THEN I decided to make a box of brooksters from a mix I bought a couple of months ago. Long story short, I've eaten more sugar last night and today, than I have in a month previously. They are delicious though

Hey, I was told that I was hella strong AND that I had a pretty face in the gym the other day. Unfortunately it was an old dude who told me, but you know what? I'll take it.

I usually change gyms when I pick up 'fans'. What to do, what to do.

It's also like clock-work. I get hit on by dudes, when my weight drops below 225. I checked this morning, for the first time in a couple of months, it was 224.6.

I think I might try these. Is the orange flavor mild?

I started yoga again yesterday. I'm sore, but I'm back again this morning.
I'm tired as hell, but doing yoga on my own is definitely not as good as organized classes.
Let's hope the 6am crowd is not as bitchy as the 6 pm crowd.
I need the centering, the stretching, and the mindfulness like nobody's business.

After a week of vacation at the beach, with no strenuous activity whatsoever, I did my normal 30 mins of cardio and followed it up with weights, culminating in a repeat of my previous best of benching 355lbs for an easy-ish two reps. Next time I will try to break that record. But squats are next on the agenda.

  13. I was enjoying being able to bike outside and work out in the water (at the lake) but the cold weather is back so now Im giving myself a few weeks to either work out at home or else Im gonna make myself join the gym again (I always quit the gym when spring arrives). I drink lots of water, I watch what I eat during the day and sometimes cheat
on weekends and try not to eat late at night and if I do its just something like a bowl of cereal. I want to lose my tummy by spring/summer. I gotta cut down on the drinks more. I think I need to work out every day for awhile or at least for a jump start .

Who benched 365 for 2 tonight? Me. All time record, for me.

I did plyo with high schoolers the other day and I'm STILL paying the price. Tight hammies suck. Thank the universe for foam rollers.

Last night I got my last of four sets of barbell squats to 135lbs for 9 reps, and the last set of my dumbbell bench presses to 80lbs for 8 reps.

    Getting there, slow and steady.

Foam roller and lacrosse ball for those extra painful adhesion removals. Pain becomes healing... Odd that

Interesting article - The healthiest diet "proven" by science

So basically, it's what's good for YOU.
That and not too much volume and exercise.
    And a good easy-going attitude.

So, I think I need to try to be a bit less anxious.

I swear a pretty, young brunette was following me in the gym yesterday. I was squatting, she was squatting next to me. I went to the leg extension, she was on the one in front of me. I must say, I'm always impressed with a woman who does full squats...

(It's just wishful thinking, I know, but it beats the old dudes hitting on me)
