    Home. :)

A new cool market opened by us that has a bunch of out of the ordinary meat and produce. In a few days we are having pheasant, and later, wild boar.

Not nearly as exciting as kangaroo nachos, but...
    Grass-fed veal burger
Creole tomatoes and basil from my garden with farmer's market cucumbers and green onions
    Cornichons (an obsession)
Oven-baked sweet potatoes fries with arrowroot starch, smoked paprika, sea salt, pepper, and a wee bit of coconut oil.

Served with an Abita Strawberry, not pictured, ha ha.

I was glad to see this new market by us has humanely raised veal. Never tethered, never separated from the herd, never force fed, etc. My wife opposes veal for ethical reasons, so we don't usually eat it. I wasn't a massive fan, but liked the occasional veal parm dinner. Now it is an option again.

Yeah, the guys here locally raise every cow themselves, in the group, never having seen a grain or experienced stress of separation. It's technically "young beef" but it's easier to say veal...

    Sooo, how were the nachos?

I had chicken soup at a Mexican Restaurant. Go me!

Tasty. Roo tastes extremely similar to venison IMO. Lean, pretty mild, just a touch more oomph to it than beef.

Burgerville. No cooking going on here. It's hot and everything's packed, even the food.
