    I have no way of knowing if Vidal was correct, my guess is "poetic license" on his part. In my research, quick & superficial I admit, even Vidal didn't gice a clear answer as to on what his speculation was based. He mentioned Marion Davies' alcoholism and the related possibility of her sharing intimate details of her relationship with Hearst, but no specific information.

    Watched Eddie Murphy sing "Party All the Time" in one of my youtube playlists which led to wandering off the playlist and downloading videos for MC Hammer, Salt-N-Peppa, and other 90's R&B and Pop music.

    Ended up on the Backstreet Boys. I listen to this pop drek on occasion, easier in this era when you can watch/download a video from youtube and not waste money on buying a CD* or MP3 type of thing.

    * I save my money for good CDs like Thelonious Monk, Nat Cole, Coltrane, etc.

    My husband deserves to win some kind of award. Angry Uterus demanded cheeseburgers and ice cream. He bought me a cheeseburger and a milkshake, despite being vegetarian. For the record, he's usually much more uptight about meat (very uptight).

    Ruff really likes it when I whistle along with the national anthems. I can whistle four: "The Star-Spangled Banner," "God Save the Queen" (it's "My Country Tis of Thee" after all), "La Marseillaise," and "Das Deutschlandlied." Had Canada qualified, it would be five.
