To paraphrase Treasure of the Sierra Madre or Blazing Saddles if you prefer...
"Digital? We don't need no stinkin' digital camera!"
This would be my first good roll of TRI-X, (I am planning on using this film for that 'Coffee Table' I mentioned elsewhere on here) just got it back from the local lab. These scans are directly from the negatives and the best the "old scanner" they have is capable, and definitely better than my options here as I currently have nothing for that purpose.
These are all from my 1990 Canon SL2 loaded w/ TRI-X, no post processing at all.

My youngest clone, that film grain does wonders in this one especially.

  2. I have been quite the slacker lately and haven't walked my dog in two days. He's not happy about it. I resolve to change this tomorrow.

Luckily, there was no tournament. Though I did break my first board with a solid cross.

Ugh gotta recover from the shenanigans before brunch. Mostly tired. Stayed up way later than I intended.

Wasn't brunch created specifically for recovery from shenanigans?

Anybody know if you can bleach the color out of a paracord bracelet without damaging the cord, or taking it apart?
I want to re-dye it solid blue.

I was reading the wiki page about the statue in Rio called Christ the Redeemer, and I ran across this bit,
    Basically, he's getting a tan.

Had a nice walk that was probably around 8 miles round trip that resulted in 100+ pictures, should be some keepers in there. I find myself using my $5 lens more than my $350 lens these days.

Back to the office. I feel like I have been away for ages.

Now with the added benefit/weirdness of my son joining me on my commute. He started his summer internship in my office last Tuesday.

The other day TelMex, my home phone (yes some people still have those) and Net provider called saying as a thank you for being a long time customer with an on time pay record they wanted to give me an HP tablet. First thought of course... What's the catch? No catch they said just bring my phone bill down to the main office with some form of government issued ID and they'd simply give it to me. So yesterday while the first game of the World Cup was being played and the streets here were empty I drove down there. Sure enough, no sales pitch, no sign this agreement... Just "Ok, thanks for being with us and for being such a good customer, here you go." It's a Hp 7 and it's capabilities seem pretty limited, walmart lists them for around $90 but free is a good price. I transferred some movies and TV shows to it last night, seems like a function it handles well. Much better than my iPad. It doesn't like any videos or music file I don't purchase through iTunes, hell have the music I've tried to transfer from cd I've purchased iTunes tell me I don't own the music and asked if I'd like to purchase it. Unless Sears, walmart and Fred Meyers is selling bootlegs I already bought it and do own it. Anyway, got a new toy that will likely just collect dust around here but I'll probably use it on flights to watch movies.

Still seems odd they'd just give them away with no commitment requested or at least an attempt to sell me something.

Trying to get back up to speed.

  19. All I wanted to do was be a hermit with my baby this weekend. Damn if I'm not popular and feel bad if I turn down invitations to social engagements.

I had fun Saturday night though and am glad I went.

From yesterday's walk about town. Applied a filter as I thought the RAW file needed a bit of help.
