Trenta... yadda, yadda, yadda... Airports suck for paleo people. I would kill someone for some real meat with no soy, no dairy, no bread, now that I got my tea without sugar and crap. Starbux was the closest thing to "food" I could find :)

After trying a green tea latte at Starbucks for the first time, I was surprised to discover that they add simple syrup to it. When I asked them to leave the syrup out the next time, I found that the soy milk on its own had more than enough sugar. (I prefer unsweetened soy milk.) It went from a hot milkshake to a tolerable beverage that I should be drinking instead of coffee.

But seriously: A standard grande soy green tea latte comes out to 46 g of sugar. Why in the world would anyone think it's a good idea to top off a beverage to 46 g of sugar by adding simple syrup? (Plus I think there's sugar in their matcha powder.)

It's like being vegan. It's surprising how much meat and dairy they put in everything.

Yes, exactly. The amount of sugar in prepared drinks is horrible. They also have sugar in that whipped cream crap they put on top. That's one of the reasons why they are required to post calorie information on the menu in the US. I like my calorie-free beverage. And I'm positive there's sugar in their matcha powder, though I've never looked it up because I don't like that stuff.

I almost killed my coworker on the trip through the airport until the tea kicked in. We landed at C Terminal, took the train to B, she realized there was nothing vegetarian, dairy and gluten free in B after a bit of exploration, then we returned to C via train. To find that the place she was looking for was not in C any longer. After walking through all 47 gates. Train back to B and she ate crap from a Chinese takee-outee, including noodles. And couldn't understand why I wasn't eating anything. I grabbed my tea and stopped talking up until it was half-gone. I don't know how many times I have to go through no soy, no dairy, no legumes, no corn... To someone that has food allergies and a special diet, too. I didn't want to get sick on our last leg home. But I really want another trenta... I think I'm dehydrated.

2.6 large cups of strong coffee brewed from fresh ground French Roast beans. Which might partially explain a couple of my responses so far this morning on TFP.

Cold water, Brita filtered. A cup of hot green tea to follow in a few minutes. I need a break from diet sodas.

You left out pecan tree leaves and walnut shells :D.

When I worked downtown I frequented a couple of places in The Park Shops. One coffee shop did coffee made to order completely from scratch. Cafe mocha was my fave--espresso from fresh ground beans, real dark chocolate shaved fresh from the block, & whole milk. Another place did fresh smoothies, either from the menu, or choose your own ingredients--good stuff!

Unless it's Irish or Canadian whisky, then the name would simply stay the same.

Super Smoothie with the addition of hemp protein. Between everything, this smoothie has a whopping 24g of fiber.
