I doubt that she actually uses the old makeup, but I do know she still has some of it. She keeps a small stash of basic makeup, and buys what she needs when she needs it. I don't ask because there are some things guys just shouldn't ask about.

My wife has never been good with makeup. She was so bad at it when we met, I would tell her to go without. She looked 18 going on 40. Luckily for her (and me) she looks good without it. About three weeks ago I showed her some Youtube makeup videos which really opened her eyes on how much better she can do with it, I should get her in this thread for help and pointers. I'll have her make her own log on though, mines tainted :p

YouTube tutorials are the best. At Christmas, my cousin told me, "Snowy, you look AMAZING! What's the secret?"

    "YouTube."

I subscribe to a few different gals beauty channels. Some I liked from day 1. Others grew on me

Bluemercury is opening a retail store here, so they sent a bunch of samples. I love samples. (Isn't that baby Bobbi Brown gloss the cutest?!)

Is that Molton Brown body wash?

My parents went on a luxe river cruise in Europe last year and came home loaded up with Molton Brown products. They are awesome. That said, this is and will always be my favorite luxury bath gel: Lady Primrose — Necture Bathing Gel Pump I wish I could afford it right now. The scent is amazing!

My wife has pale, nearly translucent skin. She wisely avoids wearing yellow and/or orange tops, scarves, etc. because those colors don't work with her face.

Do y'all have any advice for her? No, I won't pass along any "dump your husband" advice :D.

    ---------------------------------------------------
A sort of related note: I help my wife choose her dress clothes when she needs to update her wardrobe. Despite the fact that we bicker over many things, we manage to get along when she shops for dress clothes. We have a spoken agreement, I'll go with her, but she has to listen to my advice even when it's brutally honest......without her getting her feelings hurt. Amazingly, it works for us.

You should see some of the looks the other ladies give us (me in particular) when I say things like "No, that makes your ass look four feet wide" and "It's too clingy, it makes you look fat." I have never, ever, seen another man spend any serious length of time giving his wife/SO honest advice when she shopped for clothes.

If you can't tell your wife she looks fat when she looks fat I view it as a relationship with communication issues. When my wife is looking for sexy clothes, she always brings me along and now thats shes "figured out" makeup asks me there too.

No, I draw the line at helping her choose makeup. Thankfully she rarely wears any, & chooses on her own.

I kind of want to buy every NYX matte lip cream. I have Istanbul, Antwerp, Ibiza, and Prague. They all look great. Ibiza and Prague are the new additions. I love the wear on them. Hours later and the lip cream will still be there.

So now that I live near an Ulta and two Sephoras-in-JCPenneys (a real Sephora is about 20 minutes away, so could do that, too), what are some must-purchase items? I'm eyeing the Stila Stay All Day eyeliner pen, Stila's In the Light palette (love Kitten and all the other shades), and that Smashbox Full Exposure palette. I'll be needing to replace a mascara soon, so any suggestions there are welcome. I'm leaning towards Benefit Bad Gal. Also, does anyone have any experience using Benefit's Lemon-Aid? I use yellow concealer from Maybelline every day under my eyes, and I've heard really good things about Lemon-Aid for both above and below the eye. I'm kind of interested in an upgrade; the Maybelline works okay under the eye, but creases above the eye, and putting on a yellow primer/shadow makes me look more awake when teaching.

    So much to share!!

I am in love with Lorac Pro mascara. It's awesome for contacts or sensitive eyes. Makes lashes thicker, longer, all around great. Not clumpy or flakey.

I'm really not a fan of Benefit in general. I find them to be gimmicky and trendy, I really can't think of one product of theirs that I have to have or use on any regular basis. YMHI

Anastasia BH has a HAC kit that includes Banana, which might work for you. It is a powder though - not sure how you feel about that.

Anything MUFE is great in my experience. They long wear Aqua products are nice and come in a bunch of traditional and fun colors.

I'm sure there's more, but that what came immediately to my mind.

GeneticShift Show me your everything is okay face.

Stay all day is my go to eyeliner pen. Fantastic. Definitely pick up the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette and the Full Exposure mascara.

That's too bad! I love Benefit. I use Benetint almost daily, and High Beam is my go to highlighter when I want shimmer. I also love the Pore-fessional primer.

If your looking for a crease free primer for above the eye, give Urban Decay primer potion a shot if you haven't already. It's not yellow though.

Nah, it's ok. There are more than enough brands I do like, that I don't feel left out for not liking one ;) We like what we like!

Clinique has an amazingly good new mascara it's their Lash Power Feathering Mascara.

Question for you all: Do you like your toenails to match your fingernails? Why or why not?

I don't like mine to match, and I prefer it if they're not even in the same kind of color group. Coordinating, yes, a little, but not matchy-matchy. I just redid my nails today with Essie's No More Film (a very dark blue/purple) on my fingers and OPI's Where Did Suzi's Man-Go? on my toes (mango).
