Anal to me is how I feel about the person. When I am making love, and also fucking for days in bed there is a certain need to feel my man in my ass. It comes to a point when it's not enough to just be in my pussy, and I need more. It's not something that is a given, or something you feel with everyone. I can only speak for myself, but for me when I have anal it's a feeling I have and need to give myself to this person, and have the feeling in my stomach, and body that I have to have them this way.
It is not a random act or something I would do with everyone, but I see nothing wrong with it if that's your thing. It's very personal for me and something I don't feel with just anyone, I am also this way with oral sex on me. In the past I would not let someone go down on me because I did not want to give up that control and it's personal for me. There might be some control issues. lol.

I sure hope its not. This is obviously a porn driven thing, anal used to be what the girls too ugly to be porn stars did for one scene, now its "normal", but I don't get it. I'm not huge but girthy enough to be uncomfortable for women who haven't "trained" themselves for anal but who the hell wants to make their asshole bigger?

You have a hole thats perfectly set up for a penis, and a hole thats not at all. Outside of odd circumstances like someone who has issues with vaginal penetration, I can't see a good reason besides 'its there'. Maybe its because I know it would hurt, but the only time I'd want to have anal sex with someone would be a situation where I really didn't like the woman and even then it would be more fantasy then reality, I have no desire to hurt anyone like that.
