Forget about being a perv. The comic potential alone would off the charts! You'd have been getting double and triple takes all day!

I'll have to get a better picture of it, and my others, for you. :)

Enjoyed delicious post boot camp breakfast at one of Top Chef runner up Bryan Voltaggio's restaurants, mere blocks from my house.

Also, great. Now you people know where I live.

I swear, one of my backyard hosta plants is on steroids. Thing is ENORMOUS.

Cinco de Mayo shop ride spread. Not seen: dates, olives, fig faux Newtons, a fresh baguette, more coffee, tea, and an adorable flask of bourbon (sadly not mineā€”and I'd planned to bring it along, too!).

Hostas are a happy plant. One of the first to make an appearance in the spring, most are hardy as heck and last well into summer (or later).

    Halcyon hosta
    IMG_20140503_182631321.jpg
Variegated hostas, Halcyon hostas and Maidenhair ferns (I think).
    IMG_20140503_182318380.jpg
Shirley Temple Peonies. These are going to have big, puffy, white flowers. Unrecognizable. IMG_20140503_182109052.jpg
Vinka with the little blue flowers and dark green leaves and Creeping Jenny (yellow-green).
Basically, they are ground-cover to brighten things up.

I like living things (see above) as my photographic subjects while living the suburbs. Plants, pets, people, not necessarily in that order

At the mini golf course for 36 holes, I am trying to take a selfie with the new-ish phone and new software.
    I call this #SelfieFail.

We are here. A mini-golf place in the town next to us. We used to go 12-15 times a season. Didn't go once last year(!) Sometimes they let us in for free. I know it is "only" mini-golf but it is a hoot. I never win against my spouse and son. Not once. Today I tied for second on the second 18-hole course. It was REALLY windy but mild.

Jadzia and I planted these a year after we moved into the house.
    They come back every year.
I hope the new owners keep them.

  11. While at the coast this weekend, we saw some Sea Lions.

They're loud and BabySquirrel was not impressed.

Hmm, they seem familiar. Where have I seen a lazy-looking, big, majestic animal in your posts before? ;)

Nice looking animals, @Borla and @ZombieSquirrel.

More plants... oh, and a mourning dove that nested in a wreath on my friend's front door! She has to go in via the garage as she waited for the eggs to hatch.

Can't clean the window of bird poop so... a poopy pic.

Bird was not amused at being a photo subject.
    IMG_20140506_173053045.jpg

These Doll's Eyes are mondo bizarro. The wind has been bad for getting a good snap but you can see one that appears at the highest part of the plant.
    IMG_20140506_182940.jpg

I find these Coral Bells weird too, because the dead ones stay all winter (leaves are gray and veiny) and come spring the plant reactivates--the pink-ish maroon is new growth. And of course the invasive Creeping Jenny is the yellow-green small-leaved plant. This a front garden below a Japanese Maple.
    IMG_20140506_183242.jpg
Same garden. Daylilies are up, too early for blooms. Our flowers are very much based on the fact that we have very little good sun. This area faces north with a three-story building shading it.
    IMG_20140506_183316.jpg

    Some hostas coming up, too.
    IMG_20140506_182718.jpg

OK. I mis-named a couple of plants before. The ferns are Ostrich Ferns, The Halcions hostas are all one shade of blue-green, towards the front. Way in back are some Patriot hostas and the green-edged with a medium white stripe are "Variegated hostas". We have four or five kinds so I'm still learning.
    IMG_20140506_183859.jpg
You can see a little bit of bamboo that looks like it is sprouting from the top of the planter.
Around the planter, hard to see, is Japanese Painted Fern. I think it blends in too much with the mulch but hey, compromise is good, right?

    It says 'GRT WYF'.

Not sure if she bought it for him, or maybe it is hers and she earned it by being so great? :p
