Before this thread gets locked (yes, I can see that happening if this thread goes seriously south).

While most people on TFP are honest about who they are and what they're like (only to a certain extent), very rarely do you get a serious look at what their lives are like IRL. Which is probably a good thing in some cases.

Someone with a cheerful outlook here might have an icy relationship with their spouse/SO/partner IRL.
Someone who is caring and sympathetic here might be verbally abusive IRL.
Type A personalities here might be massively indecisive IRL.
People who put on a good face here might be one small step away from losing everything IRL.
The list could go on ad nauseum.

You're alright with me. I'll try not to imply anything about the legal system anytime soon though. We're all angels and demons depending on the day and amount of coffee.

Eh...what can I say...I'm a talkative cocky presumptuous whiny SOB.
But love me or leave me.

For some strange reason, you guys let me keep hanging around.
    Suckers. ;)

Can't speak for the other mods but... this post is why this thread is not going to get locked by me.

    Let's keep it upbeat, folks!

Important note: when I started this thread, I was looking for insight, not insults.

Okay, I got a little carried away with adjectives.

Yeah, it was a little confusing.

    Idiotic, lazy, pompous, etc.

I do like you list, though.

    Thanks.
And, of course, rereading the damned thing means I need to go back and edit it.

I had to check; but asshole can be considered an adjective:

    My impression of ... @Stan
Stan is a kind-hearted guy who really loves his dog. He likes the outdoors and has his priorities in life lined up so that he gets the most satisfaction out of his life, rather than letting his job rule his world and suck the life out of him.

    My impression of ... @Plan9
A guy who works ridiculously hard when he needs to, and goofs off when he can. He tends to be a sarcastic goofball.

If it doesn't get locked, I could totally see this evolving into a sort of "Say Something (nice) About the Previous Poster" thread.

Though we do already have one of those.

    My impression of @snowy
My bestest internet friend ever. We always seem to have way too much in common, but when we don't we always find a way to disagree gracefully and respectfully. She has never hurt my feelings or said anything remotely off-putting in all the years here, and she keeps things interesting around here by starting new content and keeping conversations moving. I don't know what I would do without her. I got to meet her in person (finally!) last summer and I was just as happy with her IRL.

Yeah, that one is pretty fun! Thanks for including the link. But this one is in the discussion section rather than posting games, so I'm hoping that the posts will be a bit more verbose. We'll see where it goes. I was thinking at first that this thread belongs in the member's playground, but I'm too curious about what new members think about us. I hope that they will post...

Everyone here is most certainly implumous. Except maybe @gianthamburger. I never know what to expect from that guy.
    Hirsute, on the other hand...

    I'll bite @Street Pattern .

You seem thoughtful, kind, maybe a bit self-deprecating. In general someone I might picture being shy at first, but once you felt comfortable, someone that would be pleasant to be around, and could probably hold an engaging conversation about any number of things. Sometimes I get the impression that you worry too much about what hidden meaning may be behind things, or what others think of you. But my impression from everyone else (and it is mine) is that they enjoy having you around these parts and you help contribute to the melting pot that is TFP.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I really needed this today.

    Very much so!

For the record, I enjoy the company of everyone here, albeit in different ways, and one thing I dislike about these threads is that people often get left out. Even if unintentional, it can result in hurt feelings. So, if you're reading this, here is a hug from me to you. *hug*

As I've mentioned before in my younger days I was very active in local politics and I was Jadzia's campaign manager when she ran (and won) for the school board.
That said Street Pattern is the kind of politician I licked stamps, put up yard signs and went door to door for.
He's honest, passionate about justice and wants to represent his people.
It takes a special kind of person to do that and put up with the political system.

@Borla I get this weird impression that you're a classical super manly-man Ron Bergundy type because in my head you look like your avatar and your screen name is a loud angry aftermarket exhaust system which I imagine is what your voice sounds like.

@MeltedMetalGlob, the dude who can make me smile when I'm at my lowest.
My impression is of a man who loves his family to the point of busting.
Who has talent to spare but doesn't mind doing it as a hobby because he's grownup enough to know paying the bills is OK to take care of his family.
He's a lot smarter than he let's on and will sometimes cover that up with humor.
