If you come up, I'd be happy to give you a place to crash and play tour guide.

Jadzia and I used to joke that we would go to Israel and Ireland, that way we'd cover both the homelands.
As a Jew Israel would be an amazing experience and since my great-great grandparents came from Ireland I'd love to see where they came from.

My dream vacation is a tour of the Old World: starting at Ireland, moving to Scotland, down through England and Wales, through Europe, hitting the great cities, looking at architecture, going to museums and libraries, sampling local cuisines and wines. I'd do the Northern European route through to Prague, then work my way south all the way to Turkey, then back over to Greece, detour over to Israel, then over to Italy, starting at Milan and moving north back into Switzerland, France, Spain, and Portugal.

Probably a train tour...they've got a lot more of those over there than in the US.

    Then as a bonus...Japan, Australia & Egypt

I've already done Canada, Central & South America...want to get over the big pond.

I've always wanted to eat my way through Japan. That's been my dream vacation for a long time now. I love Japanese food and cook it regularly at home, but there are just some things I can't make at home (like takoyaki and tonkatsu). I also want to explore the endless variety of ramen, and stay at a ryokan known for its kaiseki.

It's a good thing I just ate lunch, or I'd be hungry right now.

I'd like to go back to Europe someday, and I'd like to visit New Zealand as well (Lord of the Rings tour here I come). One of my bucket list items is to ride on different high-speed trains around the world. I've already ridden on the Eurostar and the Thalys, both of which operate at TGV speeds. Obviously, I have some other trains to ride.

I love travel. Even when it's terrible, I still enjoy it by the end, as it is a transformative, educational experience in so many ways.

These days? I'd be immensely happy just to make it as far as Muskoka, Ontario, as I've been stuck in the Big Smoke for too long.

Let's see..been to Mexico, The States, Bahamas, Canada coast to coast, Scotland a handful of times (my family is from there). Backpacked Belize for a month, stayed in Brazil with fiancee for two months while he was working there, and then married in Jamaica.

Dang, that sounds perfect! Covers most of the countries I'd like to see.

As a tourist, Rio and Southern South America.

As a real vacation where I don't have to plan anything, I would say the Bahamas.

As a long term trip, it would be Australia

I want to go to there.

Maybe I'll close out my future cross-Canada Eurovan trip with some time in cottage country.

Well, thus far I've been to:

    -Busan, South Korea
    -Phuket, Thailand
    -Hong Kong
    -Singapore
    -Malaysia
    -Guam
    -Manilla and Cebu, Philippines
    -Panama
-Niigata, Okinawa, Sasebo, and Yokosuka, Japan
    -Vladivostok, Russia
    -Victoria, British Columbia
-Jebel Ali and Dubai, United Arab Emirates

So basically, all kinds of stuff to the west of the US, in the Pacific. I'd like to head in the opposite direction off of the East Coast and see Britain, Wales, Iceland, Norway, etc. I'd also like to see that popular penal colony that Britain made back in the 1780's, on that island down under. I forget what that place is called. The one with the dingo problem.

One fantasy is to do the ancestral thing and visit Italy and Scotland in the same trip.

Hawaii would be awesome, too. I've always wanted to go there, but I went head over heels after seeing The Descendants.

Go. I didn't like The Descendants, but I love Hawaii.

Mrs. Levite and I honeymooned in Kauai, went back two years later on a babymoon (the "last fling" trip when she's pregnant), and are going back this summer with Little Levite. There's something unutterably perfect about Kauai: the peace, the beauty everywhere, the weather, the food (incredible produce!), the ocean. To be there is healing to the soul.

I'm not a nature vacationer, or a white sand beaches vacationer-- I'm usually a cities-museums-theater type of traveler-- but Kauai is my big exception. It is so fucking beautiful there. It's just not quite like anywhere else in the world.

To be fair, it doesn't hurt that Mrs. Levite's parents have a timeshare swap arrangement that lets us spend a week there at one of the five-star resorts for next to nothing (not including airfare, meals, and drinks, of course). But even without that, it would be pretty freaking awesome: we didn't stay there on our honeymoon (didn't know about the swap arrangement then), and still adored it and had a blast. 100% worth the cost and effort of getting there. 150%.

I hear Maui's awesome, too, as is the Big Island. From what I hear, Oahu's nice, but nothing to write home about, and Molokai's only for hardcore back-to-nature people. But then again, I've heard other people say that Maui and Oahu are awesome, and Kauai was shrugworthy, so I guess you never can tell. But I tell people to go to Kauai all the time.

  18. Dingos? What dingos? Never seen one here ever! Plenty of convicts though...

Jebel ali is a part of the emirate of Dubai. Unless you stayed in port the whole time! I lives there for almoat 6 years and theres a good chance ill be there again soon.

Apart from visiting most of the middle east already theres a few more id love to visit in the middle east and asia. I love out of the way places and like to stay away from the heavily populated areas.

    So here is my list

Id love to see yemen again. And in particular Socotra which I never got around to seeing the previous two times. Yemen ia so raw and untouched. It's a time warp

Id love to visit mongolia and 4x4 through the countryside.

    Nepal - Everest region.

    Mt elbrus - Russia

Peru - macchu picchu and then the galapogos

Alaska & Canada. In the hopes of seeing some land that might be considered at least somewhat wild.

The Highlands of Scotland. I've been to Scotland twice, but never made it very far into the highlands.

    Greece. Italy. Spain. Portugal.

Germany. I have mixed feelings about Germany, namely whether or not we should've also H-bombed Germany because of WWII & the Holocaust.

Australia & New Zealand. Pretty much because my wife wants to visit, but I'd enjoy it.
