Australia reckons they've heard it too

An Australian military vessel has detected signals consistent with those emitted by an aircraft black box, indicating a potential breakthrough in the search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
Two separate signals have been detected by Australian Defence Vessel Ocean Shield in the northern part of the search area
In what he called "a most promising lead", Air Chief Marshal (ret) Angus Houston revealed that "the pinger locator has detected signals consistent with those emitted by aircraft black boxes".

An Australian search vessel has picked up two more signals from what could be the black box from missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
The man in charge of the search, retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, says the Ocean Shield picked up the traces on Tuesday afternoon and late on Tuesday night Perth time.
He says he now believes the search is closing in on the area of MH370's "final resting place".

Our PM is making statements whilst he's in China. Reckons they are getting close to finding MH370.

Searchers are now confident they are picking up fading signals from flight MH370's black box, and have narrowed down the search area to "within some kilometres", Prime Minister Tony Abbott says.
The search for the flight recorders is now focused on a 600 square kilometre area, 1,670 kilometres north-west of Perth, where dozens of acoustic sonobuoys were dropped on Wednesday.
"We have very much narrowed down the search area and we are very confident the signals are from the black box," Mr Abbott said during a his visit to China today.

It's sounding pretty sure that they're close, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's weeks or months until exact locations are determined and recovery attempts can begin.

Unknown terrorists are said to have taken control of the missing plane and forced it to land near Kandahar.
A Russian newspaper has claimed that Flight MH370 was hijacked by "unknown terrorists" and flown to Afghanistan, where the crew and passengers are now being held hostage.
The extraordinary comments, attributed to a Russian intelligence source, appeared in the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper.
The source told the paper: "Flight MH370 Malaysia Airlines missing on March 8 with 239 passengers was hijacked.
"Pilots are not guilty; the plane was hijacked by unknown terrorists."We know that the name of the terrorist who gave instructions to pilots is "Hitch."
"The plane is in Afghanistan not far from Kandahar near the border with Pakistan."

An unmanned sub has gone down for a look but come back to the surface early after it dived deeper than its safety limit of 4.5kms.

I talked to some conspiracy theorist on this today...

He thinks it the CIA trying to provoke an incident...to stimulate defense build-up to support the military-industrial complex.
(kidnap the plane, kill/disappear all the passengers...use the plane in a foreign nation to execute a mission)

And he's ex-military...so he knows what he's talking about...
I think someone's been watching Sherlock Holmes, Game of Shadow's Professor Moriarty too much.

*Breaking News on my TV right now*

Authorities are investigating debris found on the WA coast that could be wreckage from the missing MH370 flight.
WA Police have gone to a beach 10km east of Augusta south of Perth, where material has washed ashore.The investigation of the scene comes after some debris was handed in to Busselton Police Station.
It will be handed over to the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) later tonight."It's sufficiently interesting for us to take a look at the photographs," ATSB chief Martin Dolan told CNN.
"The more we look at it, the less excited we get."Mr Dolan said the debris looked like sheet metal with rivets in it.
Photos of the debris are now being analysed by investigators, and have been forwarded on to authorities in Malaysia.
