I hung out with Single Mom again this past weekend and no we did not hook up. We did watch TV with our bare thighs touching. So simple yet so hot. But I briefly rested my hand upon her thigh, and she pulled away. Message received.

The thing is, she is completely in charge of this. She's aware of the vibe between us, she knows I'm attracted, and she knows she has to give me some kind of green light and I'll go for it. She's given me that green a few times in the past and I've acted. I haven't seen the green lights lately... more like yellows that flash into reds. I'll abide by that respectfully.

The game comment was mine. Some people wouldn't want the sexual tension and game playing. I've been involved in some mutual attraction with flirting situations where we knew sex would never happen, but it never reached the touching & teasing phase. Since you and she enjoy it, go for it.

If I had serious romantic aspirations with her, this situation would drive me nuts. But as is, I can deal with the mild sexual frustration. The games really are kind of fun, because you never know what's going to happen and it adds this dimension of mystery and playfulness to our friendship.

I respect her hesitation, nervousness -- whatever it is -- about fooling around with another woman. As I said, I'm pretty sure she identifies as straight so I think she's just playing around with her boundaries.

Look, the woman clearly lives for mind games. And just because she was in the mood that one night when we were sharing a bed doesn't give me a permanent green light.

As for whether I want to pursue anything with other women, I honestly don't find that type of chemistry often. And when I do, it's never exactly clear how to explore it. It's usually situations that are somewhat similar to the ones I'm describing now. But as I said before, my mind is always completely open. I feel like my experience with Single Mom has made me more perceptive to picking up on this type of chemistry.

 

I, for one, think that you're handling this fairly well. What someone may want now is probably not what they're going to want in 2 weeks. That goes for sex as much as it does food. As I've followed along, I think that you can either wait until lightening strikes again or move on.
