Every time I see the "Praise the Wind" nudie thread pop up on "Recently Active Threads," I always read it as "Name of the Wind," and I get all excited about a thread on the work of Patrick Rothfuss. I rarely get disappointed because something is "just boobies."

When is that next book coming out anyway? Rothfuss is getting on my nerves, over here.

Is Rothfuss gonna join the ranks of Martin, King and Auel in who can go the longest between books in a series?

He's written his first 2 books, right? I just finished the first so I have a lil more time before I get frustrated. ;)

Not likely until 2016. He's working on a couple of novellas and a novel featuring some characters from the Kingkiller Chronicle.

It ain't ever easy, @StreetPattern. I've not ever done the deed (the last trip to the vet). It's always been the men in my life, from my dad to my brother to my spouse. I do the crying at home instead of while trying to drive home.

I had my first experience of "last trip to the vet" last year. It's not easy, but it certainly reminds you of the beauty and temporal nature of life.

This has, apparently, led me to giving multiple daily hugs to my now ten-month-old puppy. More important, it has led me to spend more time cuddling with my cat of nearly twenty years.

    Hang in there.

    Thank you, @Baraka_Guru.
Raven's always liked to be brushed so I take my time doing that and say all the still things we say to our pets (such a pretty girl...).
She has improved slightly but the temporal nature of life truism cannot be avoided. She wanted a walk yesterday and darned if she didn't come along with us and her detested (by her) adopted bro. It was slow, but steady.
As with a human, I hope that her last days (weeks?) are as comfortable as possible with as many simple pleasures in each day as she can manage. She's been a good dog.

Yes, life is beautiful. Our animal companions bring some of that beauty into our lives every single day.
    Again, thank you.

From what I've read, he has the whole story already written. He's just spiffying it up, but in the mean time he's busying himself in other things, and pissing me off ( not too much though, 2016 will be too long for me probably )
