Haven't felt at all like cooking for myself but there were chicken breasts that would go bad, so I made Chicken Makhani with brown rice.
Had some spiced chai tea with it.

Always better after sitting a day or two.

    --------------------------------------------------
Our fried chicken, with garlic mashed potatoes & green beans, turned out pretty well, esp for a first time effort. We're going to need to invest in a proper thermometer, the one we have doesn't go high enough for the hot oil. Frying with canola will take a little tweaking as well.

I've been responsible for every meal we've eaten this week. So tonight, whatever we end up eating, I won't be cooking it. It's Hamster's Night Off.

OMG. I wished you'd told me that before! I'm allergic to engineers....

Actually, some of my best friends are engineers, well.....maybe not

When I was in college, one of my engineering buddies received a Rubik's Cube as a present. Instead of trying to solve it, he took it apart. :)

We were good friends with a software engineer & his wife. He was a good guy....but....he was nerdy. His wife could be a lot of fun, but she could also be a princess wannabe. At least when we split the check at a restaurant we paid exactly what we owed.

I love engineers. They always have the greatest messy hair. It makes me want to pet them. And feed them, all the ones I know are scrawny because they forget to eat.

    Fuck yeah.

I'm totally craving some chicken pot pie from a pub downtown, and I'm making it happen.

I'm thinking curry pot pie, but we already had curry once this week. Hmm.

Mine only went through that when he was working on his thesis. I had to constantly make sure he'd eaten, which was bizarre because he has the appetite of a 15-year-old. Now he's back to normal.

I added some mushrooms, leeks, and tomatoes to the original plan.
    And it was damn good.

My savory pie filling ended up being onions, mushrooms, and goat cheese seasoned with herbs de provence. Delicious.
