Annoying Commercials

I cannot stand ANY Mazda commercial. That f***ing "zoom zoom" at the end, the left over from that incredibly obnoxious "zoom zoom" kid of a few years ago just pisses me off completely.

 

Our go-to variety radio station keeps fading out, so we've been listening to the classic rock station lately... EVERY commercial break, they play an ad for Dino Vite, a nutritional supplement for dogs. The entire commercial is people calling in, so you have that annoying phone-echo-scratchy-audio thing going on. And I swear, it's like FIVE HOURS LONG. Well, okay, only two minutes, but it seems to just go on and on and on. Grrrrrr.

 

"Hey man is that freedom rock? Well turn it up!" Brings back some memories, fuzzy but they're there.

 

Some of those are pretty annoying, but none of them can hold a candle to the granddaddy of all annoying commercials. Ring Around the Collar

I was just trying to watch the Chicago weather... FOUR times I heard.... "For all the right reeeeeasooonnnnnss, Four Seasons!"
I'd now like this earworm OUT of my head.

Actually, Sleep-Wake Disorder Lady, I DO hear that on the radio every day. Several times a day. Like, every commercial break.

 

This is killing me.

 

I hate this one with a passion.
Sure I understand punk rock doesn't mean what it used to but The Ramones sure as fuck should never be used to sell Cadillacs.

 

I mute all the commercials but I obviously still can see them on the few commercial stations that I periodically watch. It's the giant zoom shots of food, particularly meat, that make me want to retch.

Actually now that I think about it, commericals at the movie theatre cannot be muted. Ugh, the movie theatre ones like, "In the lobby now-- nachos!" rendered as tall as the side of a house? Disgusting.

(I do actually like movie theatre Coca-Cola commercials with the polar bears... )

 

Anything and everything having to do with Chrisley Knows Best.

 

In general I don't like children in commercials no matter how cute they are or how well the commercial is done, esp if they're directly telling me what I need to buy. There are some rare exceptions.

 

And speaking of Cadillac this commercial sucks on all kinds of levels.
It exudes the worse kind of jingoism, dick-waving, selfishness, and stupidity.
Sure it's meant to be a bit tongue in cheek but it feels like they are doing a double wink.

 

Double wink to be sure... and that is one fugly looking car to boot.

The good news is Jim "Matress Mac" Mcingvale let his daughters be the pitchperson in many ads when he was ill.

The bad news is Mcingvale was & still is (back by popular demand after his illness) the main pitchperson.

I think it's LMI. I try to mentally block the commercials.
