Any symptoms when urinating? Discolored urine? Frequency? Stream?

When I had mine, I felt sick to my stomach, couldn't sleep due to the pain, and felt like I had to pee but didn't get all the pee out.

I'd go to the urgent care. The only thing that will take the edge off of a kidney stone is a shot of morphine followed by prescription pain meds. It was seriously the worst pain I've ever experienced.

I may be peeing a bit more often than normal, but that could be because I've been trying to drink tons of water in case that is what is going on. No discoloration, blood, or pain while urinating.

I took a Vicodin that I have left over from my back issues. It is barely taking the edge off. If I sit really still it seems to hurt less. Any movements, especially that involve bending or twisting, and it is really bad.

I have ice on it now too, just to see if that helps, which might point to a muscle issue. But I think it is too bad for a muscle pull or spasms. If it gets much worse I'll have to go to the ER. Our stupid insurance pays FAR better if you go to there real ER as opposed to urgent care, for whatever reason. I'm going to try to tough it out till morning and see what happens.

So so sorry @borla. I get them frequently. I wouldn't wish one on my worst enemy. Normally beer helps cause it opens up the urethera and makes you pee more. I've had surgery for em many times and passed a ton of em. Good luck and keep us posted

I've heard guys describe having kidney stones as feeling like one of their testicles was being squeezed and crushed.

Borla, hopefully whatever is happening will quickly clear up on its own.

I wasn't much on sports in my youth (you would NOT want me your company softball team), but I recall taking some hits to the kidneys. That is a pain I will never forget.

Still trying to figure out what to do. The pain isn't quite as bad as when I was posting about it yesterday afternoon/early evening. But it is still pretty fierce. Enough to wake me up every time I'd roll over in my sleep last night. I just hate going to the ER unless I'm dying. I may try to call my primary care doc this AM and see if he can fit me in. He does house calls only (how great is that?), so it will depend on what area he is in today.

Blood and urine taken. Doc says nothing is in that area other than spleen and bowels. Bowels have been working fine. No trauma that should cause spleen damage. So I'm sitting in an ER bed waiting.

Fortunately the hospital has free wifi.

Ouch. The muscles and joints of the ribs are nothing to sneeze at. I pulled my intercostals once playing lacrosse. That was very painful.
