Time to get on to the next point in the plot. Right now, it's sheer fluffy goodness veering towards PWP (I really have to reign that in). I already wrote the conflict--the narrative kind of works backwards within a frame. This part is at just over 20,000 words while the other is at 5,400.

Went on a mini-adventure with my husband. It was nice.

So, yeah, the work is still pouring in (I just now received a 5,000-word project), and I'm trying to hold it together. Between December and January, I was all, like, "Why can't I find anybody willing to pay me?!" By mid-February, I was hoping I could hold out until my publisher starts tossing me manuscripts to work on for the spring season.

Just as the manuscripts start coming (the second just arrived on Friday), and during a week when I had to spend a whole day in meetings, I get this deluge. A novel project, for one (and up to 120,000 words at that). This is on top of the three or four manuscripts I'll need to edit for the publisher over the next two months. On top of that: My regular client who sends me reports to do—usually one or two a week on average—has sent me eight reports over the past week. They just keep coming.

Seriously, people: Where were you months ago?!

Except maybe for Batman. When faced with the choice, once should always be Batman.

My mom gave us my family dog's old blanket a few months ago. It was in my old toy chest, and it hadn't been washed since Jack's death. I took it out of the toy chest a couple of months ago, and Ruff and Tumble both rubbed themselves all over it. I washed it and kind of forgot about it. Today, while cleaning the house, I found it in the guest room in a pile of other blankets, and used it to cover a chair the cats love. Both girls promptly rubbed themselves all over it again, and now Ruff is snuggled up in it, obviously happy. My guess is that it must still smell like Jack. The girls loved him very much; he was their "nanny" when they were kittens.

You should hear my teacher voice sometime. I scared the shit out of some sophomores a couple weeks ago with it, and it made me laugh, as I was only using my 75% voice, not my playground voice.

    Another work walkabout, I'm guessing.

Man, I laid down for a nap at 12:30ish. I just woke up. Guess I was really tired.

If we can get those two together for drinks, I would be happy to pick up the tab.

I'd be half tempted to pay for plane tickets to coordinate it so I could be there. :p

I'm not sure the Matrix would survive.
I tried to convince them to make it happen.
The eye bulging on one end and the head shaking on the other, was quite entertaining.
