Well, extremely poor life expectancy, too.

Perhaps some of the only shit we can agree on.

some one with lots of inhibitions
some one who would hate certain things or certain people without being able to say why
some one who wants authority but not responsibility

I find I am pretty tolerant of most people. However...

I can't be around you if...

    you talk down to everyone
you cannot accept responsibility for your mistakes
you're just mean at the core or have serious anger issues, whether it be towards me or the general public

Anger is the worst thing. I had lots and lots of anger issues as a teenager. Since I always observe myself I could realize it was deeply rooted in helplessness. The stronger I got the anger issues went away. I am glad I am not that kid anymore. But I fear it could be just buried in me somewhere. ...

I find it scary, when directed at me. And embarrassing, when people close to me unleash on strangers for doing idiotic things. No need to go postal on the guy that cut you off. Or the insurance guy who's just doing his job (cringe)

I can't be around you if you drive a $75k car but still wear pants from Wal-Mart. Seriously. Knock that shit off.

I can't be around you if you binge eat out of the bag/box of whatever snack. Put a small portion in a bowl, you pig.

I can't be around you if you treat your car's passenger seat/footwell as a trash can. I don't wanna ride in your landfill.

I can't be around you if you're so uptight you've forgotten how to laugh of have fun.

Hey, it's only shaming if you feel bad about it.

Indeed. The most important thing in life is remembering to bust your own poker face.

I have lot of experience with that feeling from my childhood abuses. ..
When I use to get angry moments later I feel not only bad but also ashamed
And when I do that in front of my kid it really upsets me later because the two year old understands the difference. ...
Wife is sweet when one of us get angry the other goes silent and reason it out later once all are cool

It takes several times of annoyances to make me angry. But I usually get angry only with whom I am very close - strange

I think getting angry with those you are very close to is pretty common - I actually think we get angry because we actually care. (Which is perhaps another reason I don't get all out anger on strangers - strangers usually don't matter)

Either right wing political or religious.

I consider myself progressive, but a very balanced person.

There are also lefties that are so extreme that they seem to lose their rationality and ability to see the world in all of it's complexities. I tend to meet only the trippy Portlandia stereotypes or the libertarian conservative FOX or Alex Jones, Ron Paul types. All of them make me roll my eyes.

the fundamental religious or atheists seem to both see the world in how they want it to be as apposed to how it really is. The extremely right brained are often unable to grasp logic and the extremely left brained seem to suck all the beauty out of abstracts such are art, comedy and consciousness.

Sexual chemistry is a must and I don't have it with everyone.

I'm not into codependent relationships, so I don't want a daughter or a mother. I'm neither dominant or submissive, I seek a friend on equally footings.

The overly dramatic are too stressful to live with and the shallow types seem to be incapable of really being able to empathize with others.

The overly intolerant seem to be unable to let little things slide. Those that seem to tolerate everything seem to have too little self esteem to be attractive.

The egotistical seem to be too self important and selfish. The overly selfless seem to be boring.

I could go on and on, but I'm getting old and unlike Goldilocks, I have yet to find just right.

Heh. Well if I wanted to fart, I would. So I guess the real shame is that I was brought up in the 1960's and reminded constantly what ladies do and do not do. But I really don't care. I swear like a sailor. I do what I wanna do when I want to do it.
*You are a smart-ass but yes, very much a compliment.

Pointing fingers and not thumbs in the blame game - its not the fault of the alcohol, drugs, me, your family, the mailman, or anyone else that's convenient. Sometimes it starts with you.

Not being able to take a joke, especially when dishing it out.

    Overreacting to everything.

    Constant negativity.

I have ADD, so my man-crush on @plan 9 will go unrequited. My shit is disorganized. Also, I am a farter. Especially after I devour a large tub of popcorn at the movies.

I can't be around you if are religious or right wing. You won't be smart enough to keep up or have good judgment. No smoking or anything more than an occasional drink, and no drugs. And cannabis is a fucking drug. You better like sex and physical contact is an important form of communication. You need to not have an irrational fear of guns and understand they are a tool. Especially for my job. a sense of humor is really important. And some money sense.

That statement would make a great new thread. I know that on TFP 4 there were quite a few folks who were open about toking, not so much on the current TFP.

  18. I cant be around you if you harm or neglect animals - unless its to get evidence to stitch you up with.
I cant be around you if you lie, or are violent (unless to the above - then its justified).
I cant be around you if you can not accept my lack of physical ability, my memory problems, my fears.
I cant not be around you if you can not accept me for who I am.

I understand that, and I can appreciate your view with you being in law enforcement. I think that it would be interesting to see a discussion about the pros & cons of marijuana use. In TFP 4 the discussion would've been pretty lively, not sure about the current TFP.

Personally I view pot much like alcohol, responsible use is fine, irresponsible use should have consequences. How to define responsible/irresponsible use? That's a tough question. If a person can't control their toking and/or drinking, they shouldn't toke and/or drink.

Start a thread, let's see where it goes. There might be an old thread could be bumped.
