As long as I'm physically and mentally able to care for myself. Once I become a burden, when the QOL is too low, I'd want to die.

More to the point, Africa has a smaller proportion of the world's people than most Americans assume. There are more than five times as many people in Asia as in all of sub-Sarahan Africa.

Add up the population in all the countries of North and South America, plus all of Europe and Africa and Australia, and you don't quite get to 40%.

So, what are we all going to do when we are no longer physically/mentally satisfied with ourselves or can no longer care for ourselves (cant get the Depends on)? Most of us purport not wanting to live with the pain of aging ungracefully, but most probably will experience it and all it encompasses.

In addition to the mices' red wine and low cal diet, I suggest cooperative living, and compassion, baby.

I wanna live just long enough to see every asshole I've ever known die. Then I wanna die in bed with my 22-year old swimsuit model girlfriend at our beach house in Maui.

By the time you get to be my age (58), chances are that half the people you have ever known are dead.

In truth, I'd be fine as simply a brain with no body.
As long as I had access to media and money wasn't a factor.

Now, if you want to give me the body, health and energy of what I have now or back into my 20's
    That's cool...as long as I can keep going strong...and a job.
Makes retirement no longer a worry...or longer to save up for.

Why? Because I'm fascinated by everything that changes.
Don't want to miss a thing.

I've lived long enough to see Karma hit a couple of the people that made my childhood miserable. I'm horrid enough to wish to be around long enough to see what she's got in store for the rest, because she chose for the one's shes seen to already, more bad than I'd have wished on them, so it would seem I wasn't the only one Karma was after them for. My one remaining grandparent is 95 and in far better health than I am, physically and mentally. He's not one I take after on any level, but were I to be chosen to last that long, I'd certainly LIKE to take after him.
I'm known, rather annoyingly to some, for "being right all the time". I hope beyond reason that's not really true, because I've felt to the depth of my being since I was rather young, that my life would not be a long one. But I'm here now. Time to get back to work.

  8. I am looking forward to being a crazy old lady. It'll be awesome. I want to be the granny at the strip clubs, but also the crotchety old lady sitting on her porch shaking her cane at the all the young punks who come into my yard. I'm also going to pimp out my motorized wheelchair.

I'd like to live long enough to meet my grandchildren or great nieces and nephews in case BabySquirrel has no desire to have children. My mother never got to meet her grandkids.

I don't want to live long enough to where I'm a burden on my family. Don't wanna die in a nursing home or a hospital. Motorized Scooter Accident sounds more appealing.

I was gonna chime in with a couple of seriously smart-assed remarks. But then I thought you'd come looking for me and try to hurt me.

    :p
