I'm much the same, for different reasons. I'd hide the bald if I thought I could get away with it. I work with 3-phase power, no jewelry for me. My corrected vision is >20/15 ... I'm not screwing with success. Most perfumes make my eyes water and my nose run. Other than the top of my head, I'm kinda furry. A tattoo would get lost.

I have some fancy expensive cloths, all are sports related. Ski wear and motorcycle gear are damn expensive (and worth it).

Honey, you may be a maverick in real life but from what I've read, you're a freaking rock star here.

Now if you will excuse me I have to go and fight the urge to make a seduction plan.

    Yeah, got nothing. ;)

  5. @DAKA: Once you lay down the OP, the thread takes on a life of it's own. Discussion drifts and wanders, then comes back full circle. 3 pages this quickly? Ya done good, buddy!

Seriously, the most expensive piece of clothing I own (I didn't pay full price for it, thankfully) is my Arc'teryx ski coat.

I do everything reasonable to keep me looking my best. My motivation is simple, one, I like it, two, women like it.

People can claim what they want but first impressions matter, and first impressions are not of your IQ, your reading list, or your comedic abilities. Most can't look THE best, but looking YOUR best requires only slightly greater effort than doing nothing. Fixing your teeth is a one time thing + routine maintenance. Hair can be replaced or well maintained. Skin is not difficult to care for.

Part of looking good is taking good care of yourself. It makes you healthier as well. Getting enough sleep, working out, keeping the weight in your ideal ranges, keeping the teeth in good shape, cleaning out your pores, eating right, all adds up. I only got this focused on my looks a few years ago and its been an amazing lifestyle transformation.

So I feel good about myself, it helps in my job, it helps in my general well being, and it helps my extracurricular sexual activities.

Being healthy = looking good. You can try to look good without the healthy using surgery and the like but thats a different animal, and a losing game.

My Gore-Tex shell is Arc'Teryx. Stupidly expensive, even with the 20% REI annual discount. It's really what you want to be wearing when all hell breaks loose and you are above tree line.

My husband snagged mine off of Steep and Cheap a few years ago. It's my favorite coat. Keeps me very cozy and dry.

I'm with you, though I cannot keep track of brand names. I paid one-sixth the retail price of my extremely warm, practical and pretty winter coat. It stops the cold from intruding upon my body. I invest in clothing items that are of import--basically, winter gear. Summer clothes are fun and cheap--except footwear.

I don't have any tattoos. No particular reason other than I was born in the wrong time-frame.

I take my tattoos like I do my music, food or anything else.
No rules, no categories, no presumptions, it either hits me or it doesn't.

    Unfortunately, I am biased...if you're a cute woman, it helps a lot.
Cute is like sugar...a bit makes it more tasty.

I do admire skilled art though.

I have no real feeling either way about tattoos, but they do nothing for me when it comes to a woman. I guess I'm influenced by the era in which I grew up, but they don't enhance a woman's attractiveness for me.

personally i dont mind tattoos at all. i have 2 and my wife has 2. i want more but not able to right now. i have quite a few friends that have their whole body covered in them. and if thats what floats their boat then so be it. to me its just freedom of expression. i have no right to judge somebody because they have tattoos or piercings. lots of people have things that other people dont like. wether it be cars, houses, or tattoos. who cares. thats what makes us us.

For me, whether or not I like a tattoo on a woman depends on the nature of the tat, the quality of the work, where it's located, and most importantly the person it's on. I prefer well-done artistic tats over 'murky' fantasy tats.

That said, what tats go where is up to the persons wearing them. With highly visible tattoos there is one consequensce that is nearly unavoidable, the tats will draw attention and cause pre-judgements by some people.

A point that is obviously missed by a lot of people is that a tattoo isn't typically meant for you to appreciate. Its intent and meaning is usually particular to the wearer. I agree that there are good and bad tattoos artistry-wise. But i'm not inclined to denigrate a person's tattoo simply because i don't like its location or subject matter.

Very nice work, this appears to be a attractive "young" woman..I personally would be very put off by this
I can only hope that she doesn't regret this later in life....

Toooootaly. My tattoos have a great deal of meaning to me; the are oriented on my body so that I'm the only person who sees them in their upright position. Artistically, they are pretty spare, and that was kind of the point.
