The Complaining and Bitching Thread

I was more referring to the $1-$2 a project with no idea how long it is.... That could go horribly wrong. Or be perfectly fine, depending on what it is. A little too iffy for my taste.

I have (as have others), tried to guide her to the proof once well mentality (most of her 3-8 corrections are things she could have caught on the first round had she really been thorough) but she continues to send them and go over my head even after I've said Stop! We're at the printer!! If she didn't do it for so cheap, I'd find someone else. I'm grateful for her dedication, I just wish it came in 1-2 drafts. She's also VERY sensitive to any kind of criticism, and that's frustrating, too.

Me, I'm a horrible proofer. My mind reads things that aren't there. It's maddening. I can usually pick out visual errors pretty easily (for example, if a page should have a blind folio, but is showing over an ad) but it all goes downhill pretty much from there.

 

Your mind reads what it wanted to write, not what was actually written. I'm not a typist, my brain runs way ahead of my fingers, and my proofing/editing is always better after I spend some time (the longer the better) away from what I wrote.

 

Reading takes like effort dude. If Amazon makes it into a movie I can just stream it onto lappod smarttab.

 

There was frost this morning. It'll be 72* on Thursday. I'm going to stop wondering why my nose runs all the time, now.

 

I'm going to spend a total of 3+ hours driving to attend a musical performance that will last 30 minutes and doesn't directly involve anyone that I know.

I have the option of begging off sick, but things are already icy enough around here.

 

Pfft, he just needs to hang out with me more.
