Nothing like a rant on socialism from my son-in-law to get the festivities started. This was after my daughter and he hit me up for a new washer and drier because I could afford it and they couldn't. It's only noon here and the hypocrisy is in full swing.

    Wait. He's against socialism?

Or he's only against socialism when it means he has to help foot the bill, but for it when his FIL foots the bill and he's the beneficiary?

    Selective socialism.

    Or: The government teat—bad; FIL's teat—good.

Hm...both Twitter and Facebook getting on your nerves, B_G? Is someone going into social network overload? ;)

No. The opposite, kind of. I'm trying to wade into it deeper, but many make it difficult.

Maybe I should intentionally overload to get some kind of afterburner effect or something.

    Ah. Yes.
Twitter can be satisfying but I've been brutal about no following ppl whose Tweets are like fingernails on a chalkboard. I give them maybe 30 days then cut the cord if they don't straighten up and fly right. But that behaviour is counter-intuitive if your goal is to boost your followers. I blocked over 150 spammy types all at once and realized in hindsight that it would take forever to get my follower count back (I'm almost at 300--woo).
It takes a lot of patience for me--and still, Tumblr, which I only joined 2 months ago is most gratifying. I'm easily impressed, I suppose. The community seems more intimate and willing to like or reblog stuff I've put up.

Black Friday is going on out there and I will have to get into my car and go to Best Buy for a new one. Wah.
(I live basically across the street from the major mall on this side of town. You have no idea what it's like this time of year. Murder.)

So, I am a little pissed at the instructor for my UCF course. She writes me an email saying that I forgot to include the answers to the "four narrative questions" that were "clearly stated" in the instructions for the assignment (journal article critique) so I go back to look for the questions in the link under the "assignments" tab and I don't see them there. So I write back to her asking for clarification and she writes me back a snippy response saying that they are under the "modules" tab where she again claims that they were "clearly stated." I'm sorry, there is nothing "clear" about that course or the fucking design of the "online classroom" at all - shit is scattered everywhere and nothing about it is intuitive - and when you have an "assignments" tab where all of our assignments are listed (along with instructions for completing them) and the instructions for one of them is not complete, don't get snippy with your goddamned students about it. Finding out what you need to do to complete an assignment shouldn't be like a fucking scavenger hunt. Fuck me, I hate that class.

Amazon Prime will deliver one to you tomorrow for $3.99 shipping. And probably at or cheaper than Best Buy's in store price.

EDIT - Forgot, Saturday next day is $8.99. Maybe not worth it for a $25 item. But you better believe the $3.99 would keep me home. :p

I have saved myself the trip by talking daughter #1 to go out and get it for me. I knew there was a reason I had these babies. :p

My neighbors are getting their roof redone and I'm enjoying all the noises that come with it.

It sounds like someone is knocking on my front door every 15 minutes. Which is depressing.

    Nobody wants to visit me.
