I hear they drink bizarrely named beverages there, too.

 

I was thinking more along the lines of "soda."

I will agree with that, as long as you don't stick 'diet' in front of it...

 

I just started doing the "post a picture day" thing (with a goal of six months in my case) for this very reason. Posting them on my normal blog that I will avoid spamming here.

"Soda" is correct. This business of using "pop" or "coke" is just strange. I can roll with "soda pop" if necessary but tend to go with "sugar water" more these days anyways if not using "soda".

<My oft-neglected blog that I usually ignore for weeks at a time if not more> - I have two pictures to add to that from yesterday and today that will be up soon enough. Sleep beckons right now, or at least lying down and taking a 2 hour nap. This also forces me to be active on there and make something resembling interesting posts.

Where I come from, it's pop. Soda just sounds like you are from some backwoods place where they don't have access to good education.

Yes its called soda. Pop is common out in this part of the US, and it hurts my ears to hear it. Coke is the brand name for the finest soda beverage. That is why you say give me a coke.
