I can't think of anything to talk about!

I want to start a conversation with all of you, but I just can't think of a good conversation to CREATE.
So I'm just gonna say what I'm doing haha.
I'm watching Friends! Ross just went for a spray on tan, and got sprayed on his front 4 times with a number 2. So now he's an 8 on the front and a 0 on the back. hahaha :p I'd demand my money back if something like that happened! I tan with the sun thank you very much.

Personally, I don't see the point of tanning, chemically or traditionally.
What's wrong with lily white (or other color) skin? I like looking like a glass of milk. :)
That said, I'm a big fan of tan lines.

I watched Friends.... 6 years ago together with my sister. I remember the specific situation you mentioned with Ross, but not much else.

Starting a conversation can be hard with strangers. Been in the TFP chat once and the conversations were pretty short and seemed more forced than anything else. Then again, there were only 2 people and my time of choice is usually not the best because of where I live.

Do you have the same issues when starting a conversation with people you meet face-to-face, as you do with us guys online?

Another thing: your interests. State them and find common ground, then conversations will flow much easier. (I hope.)

    Gotta hate them, bro!

I've probably only see one episode many years ago. Recently, however, Lisa Kurow best known for her role as Phoebe Buffay in Friends has appeared on my radar with her series 'Web Therapy'. Ace characterization, and an accurate representation of the dark side of many 'professionals'.
I do not like pallid, clammy mushroom skin, and an 'I've been walking about in the sun a lot' tan will always gain my respect over micro-managed exposure.
RestlessinPA , presumably 'Friends' has ended. What are you doing now?
Given your blog, then, since it's nearly midnight here in England, it could be time to begin watching scary movies and drinking soda :)
    Good wishes

Tanning is moot for me. No matter what time of year, I always end up with a tri-level farmer tan: skin, t-shirt skin, and tank top/beater skin. If they developed some magic process for tanning that color matched and compensated for the different areas, I'd think about it.

    CinnamonGirl The Cheat is GROUNDED!

    ha, I remember that episode.

On the subject of tanning, meh. I'm claustrophobic, so beds are out, and spray tans just don't look natural. I don't "lay out," but I do love being outside, so my face and arms usually have a nice tan going on, despite sunscreen. I call it my "dog-walker's tan," since I'm not a farmer :)

And on starting conversations, don't worry...I'm pretty terrible at it myself, especially offscreen. It's easier online, I'll just post up something interesting I've seen/heard/read about, and the conversation usually follows soon enough.

Tanning beds = increased risk of melanoma. Melanoma = most lethal of all skin cancers, as in very lethal. Tanning = very bad.

I'm actually very outgoing, open, and talkative. usually. Recently though I'm lacking social skills. Probably because the only time I get out is for work. This is going to sound self-centered or selfish or maybe even conceited. BUT, I feel like I am very mature for my age. I get along with people older than me than I do with people my own age. And talking to people my age just...annoys me and ticks me off. I find it even easier to talk to strangers online! It's not that I didn't know how to start a conversation i guess...it was just that I wanted to say something just didn't know what. haha if that makes sense?

My boyfriends sister was telling me about that! As soon as I saw you typed her name I knew immediately what you were going to say! I HAVE to find it and watch it! OH, and it's 10:25 pm here right now. I have work tomorrow at 7, so unfortunately I will be needing to go to sleep soon.

Oh and for everyone who has commented on the tanning situation. I'm also claustrophobic so tanning beds are out of the question and spray tans just seem pointless to me? You're spending how much money on something that's only going to fade and then you'll need to go BACK and get it re-sprayed.

My left arm has a nice tan this year. The rest of me not so much.
I was watching the Friends marathon as well...though not by choice.

  11. Ha!! I'd agree with you. But I like a good tan, too - even though I'm black. (Mine are usually done by the sun.)

Woohoo for farmer's tans - that's what I usually end up with myself.

As far as conversations go ...

I have problems starting conversations with strangers, online, and sometimes with people I know. I didn't have a lot of practice growing up - I was the definition of 'loner.' But I am getting real skilled at letting other people start the conversation and joining in later.

See I was very talkative growing up and now that I'm not around anyone anymore...I'm losing my skills Dx

  13. And I only have the skills I have because my job forces me to talk with (and for) people every day.

Hope you two get back into the socializing game without issues.

It can be tougher for some than others. Being a loner is a fun activity, though.

    Also, I rarely shut up.

Yeah, a friend of mine in high school (back 4-5 years ago) was a loner and would always distance himself from the rest during breaks.

I'd join him often and we'd be loners together.

    Good times.

On starting a conversation, I think you've done well, people are talking, yes?

On tan how's this for funny? I'm Black and when one of us is very dark, often we get teased that "you are so black you're blue" I'm sure you've heard that right? Now Wesley Snipes is a very dark man, sometimes that same joke is "you're blacker than Wesley Snipes"
Finnaly Serena Williams is just a bit less dark than Wesley.

She has a sun tan lotion in her skin care line.

Eh, I suck at small talk. Not to good at big talk either, come to think of it. My arms are kind of tan this year, though I'm a pretty white fellow, otherwise.

  19. I wish I could spell the combo word of purple and black - I've heard that one more than once. I wonder if the sun tan lotion is to keep her from making it to Wesley Snipes level, or if it just gets her there safety.

    blurple?

On Serena, the product line is called Mission. Her and a couple other atheletes have attached their name to it. I just thought it was like birds selling ticket for AA to other birds.
