There should be rules as to when it is acceptable to murder someone.

Like, if you have a solid argument they deserved it, and you can do it with your bare hands.

Can this apply to software programs, too? Because Microsoft Word needs to stop being such a cunt.

    Yes, I said it.

People need to realize that those "professionals", who spout 20 different buzzwords in less than 5 minutes of talking, are usually the useless ones.

That's good, Remixer, but it's not the end:

People also need to realize that its way too easy to take their fancy job super seriously. Reality check: Boil that shit down to its base, perhaps how you'd explain it to a small child.

It's hard to feel important when you realize that you help people order boxes for other people to poop in.

    I'm Plan9. I sell toilets. You're ____, you do something equally glamorous.

Oh, here's a good tidbit that i meant to post last night.

People, if you have little kids and you buy them an adorable little puppy (stupid, but if you do) don't allow the children to hold the puppy under his forelimbs with his legs splayed out at 90 degree angles like they're holding a fucking chicken.

I just scheduled an echocardiogram and a pedorthic assessment.

Man, I'm feeling old. I gotta keep this old house from falling into disrepair.

I'm fortunate that I have a pretty minimal/straightforward medical history so far.

That kind of thing gives me indigestion.

Thankfully, I only hear that kind of thing in public on a rare occasion. For example, when I hang out at a cafe, reading a novel or doing something else equally unproductive, I might overhear that kind of banter between two suits.

They're totally into it because they take their "power lunches" very seriously, and time is money. But by the time they're done (or I'm done), I often think, "Half of what they said was meaningless, and that's being generous."

  15. I'm going to play a drinking game at work...with water.

Every time my coworker does a really exaggerated sigh, I drink. Every time she says something in a sing-songy tone, I drink. Every time she undermines someone else's work, I drink. Every time I hear her whispering to someone, I drink. Every time she wants to "warn me" about someone, I drink.

It's only 10:45am and if this was vodka, I'd be plowed.

I have a history of mild aortic regurgitation. I'm due for a followup echo.

    No.

As long as it's still rated mild, I'm good.

How did they first diagnose you? Were you experiencing symptoms?

About 13 years ago, I went in for extensive heart testing after reporting mild chest pain.

They ran the full gamut: ultrasound, stress test, etc. They gave me the go-ahead for exercise but told me I had the mild AR.

I was told that, based on the test results, that the chest pains were likely from stress (esp. due to a number of stressors I had at the time).

I believe that if it worsens (to moderate or worse, for example) that I'd have to forgo strenuous exercise, especially anaerobic and weightlifting. I suppose that would mean transiting from Muay Thai to T'ai Chi. :)
