That doesn't sound good. I hope it turns/turned out in your favor.

It never ends. I had a call from the assisted living facility where my FIL moved a couple of months ago. We switched his pharmacy from a local grocery store to a company that the facilty uses. That company is now saying that Medicare wants to know when he started using one of breathing treatments.

He's been on the treatments for quite a few years. If we can't get the info from the old facility, the previous pharmacy, or determine which doctor wrote the orders, I get the pleasure of digging through a mountain of paperwork in the hopes (no guarantee) finding the paperwork. The chances are good everything was handled directly by the doctor & the other facility, we might not have any paperwork.

    Expletive, expletives, & more expletives.

Remember, remember the fifth of November. What a day in Canadian politics.

    • Toronto mayor Rob Ford admits to smoking crack, apologizes, and suggests we move on to business as usual.
    • The Canadian Senate suspended three of its members in a move that amounts to the Prime Minister sweeping a problem he's very likely linked to under the rug—whilst managing to brand the Liberals as "defending the misconduct of these Senators" because the Liberals abstained from or voted against the motion, insisting that the whole process was a joke.
    • The premiers of B.C. and Alberta "finally" agreed on an oil pipeline from the oil sands to the coast despite the opposition and concerns of several First Nations communities through which said pipeline will run—with luck, they'll ram this through despite said pesky opposition.
    Yay democracy!

Honest to god, if I hear one more person say that gay marriage (finally approved in Illinois, WOOT) is going to cause the demise of America AND infringes on their "religious freedoms" I'm gonna punch them in their homophobic, brainless, judgmental foreheads, probably with a roll of quarters clenched tightly in my fist.

It's very Cronenberg. You can pass that on to him next time you see him.
I won't charge him for the idea.

  10. It wasn't as bad as I expected, but only by a thin margin. Corporate bean counters can make numbers say whatever they want. I'm calling them out on some of their bullshit.

  12. In other news... FUCK!!!!! Dropped my phone and cracked the damned screen! 7 months until upgrade eligible. Of course, I didn't insure the muther. It still works. Maybe that little shop down the street can fix it. But, who has time for this aggravation?

I don't know what type of phone you have, but Google and YouTube are your friends right now. If you are a bit talented, you can probably repair it cheap yourself with directions you find there. If you don't trust that, there are often people on Craigslist who will do it for you for a small fee.

  14. There's a local shop that repairs cell phones. They claim to fix cracked screens. I have a HTC Thunderbolt, but that is, like, 3-4 generations old by now? I could probably grab a refurb off ebay cheaper than fixing this one.

Just watched a video on replacing the screen. Think I'd rather pay to have it done.

Dude, just get a new phone. They're basically disposable, especially anything non-iPhone.

I can throw mine in a chipper/shredder and get a new one for $63 with free shipping. Yay.

Not only did they just release an awesome-looking Rocksmith 2014, but they released a 5-song Smashing Pumpkins DLC pack.

On top of that, I'd need to either repair my guitar (again) or buy a new one to play.

I can't afford all this shit.

    :(

(Though I'd be happy just to return to the original Rocksmith at this point.)

I have fond memories of a Smashing Pumpkins concert. Probably circa 1996 or 97, at the Rosemont Arena.

What console do you need a guitar for?

What happened to me? I used to party all night and go to work in the morning. I got home from a wedding around 0630 and I'm just lifeless. Can not even keep my eye opens. I need to go to Costco but that would mean moving and driving.

Is it on here that a member has a signature line of (+/-) "When I was younger I wanted to be older, this shit is not what I expected."

Apparently, Billy Corgan has really slipped.
Besides the man-boobs, half the show was pre-recorded, and everyone looked half-asleep, at the show my husband went to just a few months ago.
He said that Pumpkins energy is just gone.
That pisses me off, because they are on my list of top concerts I've ever been to... Mellon Collie was freaking awesome in person.

In other news, My shoulders are killing me after four hours of statistics and dissertation rewrites.
