    I know that feeling. I somehow snagged nearly 4 hours yesterday and just woke up from what had to be pushing on three hours today. My body definitely enjoyed what is "a good night's sleep" for it these days.

    The IL legislation passed a bill for same-sex marriage this week.

    My local rep voted against it. It is a not so well kept secret that her and her husband have a pretty "open" marriage. Her and her husband (also a prominent member of the local community), as well as a few other prominent couples in the area, are known to swap around a fair amount, especially when they vacation together. I don't care what anyone else does really, but I think it is a bit ironic considering her comments on marriage.

    Her reason for voting against same-sex marriage was “In my last two elections, I was very honest with people that I support traditional marriage between a man and a woman, I think it is important that my vote reflects what I ran on.”

    I guess political hypocrisy, and politicians refusing to live by what they propose for us common folk, is barely noteworthy these days. But it made me roll my eyes to hear that as her reason. I'd guess "traditional" means "I can do what I want, but that doesn't go for everyone".
