Bidet? Never encountered one. I like using a spritz bottle of water when I want to get super clean. The hospital gave one to me when I gave birth, and I have kept it handy ever since.

  2. Its customary in many asian and arab and muslim cultures to use water on their toilet paper. if you find half empty water bottles by the side of the WC in public toilets, that's probably why.

you mean instead of their left hand?

  4. im not quite sure what you mean exactlyLucifer, so i'll just expand on what you mentioned a little for the sake of clarification.

Its customary to use 'the left hand' when wiping your butt in some arab, muslim and asian cultures. But not that you wipe the fecal matter with your hand. Thats never been customary.

In arab culture, you shake hands, eat and do most things with the right, and so wiping your butt with your right was looked at as a sign of disrespect when greeting people, but also facilitated the spread of germs if you did your business with the right.

personally, i couldnt get my butt cleaned immaculately unless i used the right, so ive always been a righty.

GeneticShift Show me your everything is okay face.

I love the wipes. I convince myself that they're not terribly wasteful if I only use one when I neeeeeeed it. Plus, the family buys the biodegradable ones at Costco, so they're around.

    At home:
She shops TP. Double ply. Always costco.
I am the official TP loader. Always over the top.
I use just one square folded. Right hand. Then I wash using left hand. The right hand is busy supplying water from a jug or hand sprinkler.
the used TP goes in to the flush.
Yes the left fingers directly deal the left over invisible layer of soil in the ass. I would do it even for a family member if a situation arises.

    At work:
I use toilet rarely. Say once in a week or fortnight.
I don't mind over versus under
Use two squares at a time, two to three rounds. Alternating right, left, right. I learnt that by instinct.
Since our baby, I keep baby wipes at desk. I carry one wet wipe in my pocket. After TP rounds I use this. TP goes in to flush. the wet wipe comes out to go to trash ca due to Fear of clogging drain pipes.

    Other places:
    Anything is ok.
But two squares at a time, more than three or four rounds, alternating hands each round

Note: I enjoyed reading this thread. Many of you have made me feel special LOL

I must have a spoiled undercarriage, because cheap toilet paper bugs[/quote]
I would invest in a quality TP. Has to be soft to feel and strong to work.
I always prefer quality inner wear even though I am quite ok with cheaper shirts and jeans.

I buy wet wipes but only use them after certain kinds of business. They do come in handy while camping, too.

Umm, wipes probably don't break down nearly as quickly as you people think. Yes, they break down, but it takes weeks, not hours like TP.

Sometimes a clean undercarriage is just as important as the environment.
We use the Scott Naturals ones. The rash I got from the Cottonelle wipes was... unpleasant.

We use biodegradable wipes as a finisher after the TP. We use the TP, flush, then use a wipe or two to get everything squeaky clean, flush those. Works well.

I personally do not like bidets. I've tried them a few times, and some are hard to position properly, which means too much oversplash onto legs/pants. And in all cases, even when aimed properly, there was way too much backsplash on my balls. I don't enjoy that, especially if I'm trying to get my business done and get out.

Was it written by a bear?

I'm interested what wipes you all use. When deployed and in the field I got used to using baby wipes, and when back home I was using them as a finisher after TP. But even with "flushable" baby wipes I ended up causing costly damage to our septic pump. The repairman said he's seen it quite a bit and to not necessarily trust the ones that say they can be flushed.

  19. Lucifer i should have figured that with your sense of humour.

Spiritsoar Wet toilet paper works just as well for me. But there's a few tricks of the trade to be aware of
