No hangover. I'm going to have to be super-strict with my weekday drinking until November 27th. Hangovers and a 5:30am wakeup time don't mix very well.

I have successfully cut back on my drinking altogether. Not teetotaling, just less.
So, not an alcoholic. Yet. :)

I just gave my notice for my part time job. I HAVE MY WEEKENDS BACK, BITCHES!

It feels so good to be in a place that we can financially afford to do this.

  5. I really wish I could wear sweatpants to work. My pants are getting tighter and maternity pants weird me out.

I'm so happy to be back at work. Got my desk half set up. I'll do more tomorrow. Got my first three weeks laid out. Then it's on to mapping Romeo and Juliet.

There is a whole subculture of "indie publishers" who write, edit, and publish each other's ebooks. Every time I look at these books, it's rather obvious that although these people are mostly literate, they aren't editors.

I don't think they know they're not editors.

    They're not really typesetters either.

This is a huge untapped market. I need to figure out how to tap that shit.

But how to do you tell someone you just met that they don't know what they think they know and have them still like you?

Home from school, but now eyeballs deep in curriculum planning using my giant Notebook of Doom (as in, it's so heavy your back is doomed). My content is already plentiful enough that I could start taking over a filing cabinet. As of right now, it takes up the Notebook of Doom, some smaller notebooks, and some magazine holders.

Regarding the public (i.e., social media) reaction to Ben Affleck's Batman and Miley Cyrus's pole dance: Not since the reaction to Charlie Sheen's meltdown have I been so utterly disgusted by America's indubitable decadence.

Today, during our mental health lecture, we watched a video called Back from Madness: The Struggle for Sanity. Unfortunately it is not on youtube for me to share.
But it was pretty good. It followed four people who were struggling with mental illness: a young female student at Barnard with schizophrenia; a wedding photographer with obsessive-compulsive disorder; a 25-year-old homeless man with bipolar disorder and a Juilliard-trained violist with severe depression. The film wasn't new - probably from the early '90s, but it was really good.

I foresee some interesting nights when it comes time for mental health clinicals...they start late September.

The film showed archival footage of a transorbital lobotomy and everybody just about lost their minds (no pun intended). It is a pretty horrendous procedure to watch.

Do you mean like when someone on the internet asks if we'd rather have Sarah Jessica Parker play Batman than Ben Affleck?

Can someone post something, anything in my Music without lyrics thread? Just say "cool" or something so I can post a few more songs. :)

Sarah sounds better in the role if you ask me.
My first thought when I read about that was Ben playing Ace and Matt Damon playing Gary.

Despite my better judgement I watched part of a video from 'The Wanted', might have been the ridiculous title 'Walks Like Rihanna'.
Judging from the 2 minutes I lasted they are at least as bad if not worse than One Direction. Going with the late 90's Backstreet Boys look in the video was no help. Egads, going back to Benny Goodman and some actual music that is worth buying. Right after this Taylor Dayne video finishes.
