I never used to drink coffee. On a whim we bought a French press from Ikea years ago and it sat gathering dust in a kitchen cabinet until earlier this year. Then I read this post and decided to finally put it to use, so much so that when I dropped the glass pitcher from our drip coffee maker, we never bothered to replace it. Before I knew it, I was drinking coffee every day.

We buy whole beans from a local roaster—medium roast preferred—and go through a bag in three to four weeks. I take my coffee light and sweet with a healthy amount of half and half. Kinda pansy, but that's how I like it.

We also own a moka pot and were on a homemade latté kick for a few months, thanks to a long underused (until recently) milk frother. On the subject of moka pots, I adore our espresso cups, because they are tiny and freakin' adorable.

So, how do you take yours?

I have a Keurig. I absolutely love it. I don't drink coffee every day, but probably 40-50% of the time. I love the variety and speed I can get from my K-cups. I almost always drink it black. On rare occasion, with really bitter blends, I'll throw in a small spoonful of sugar.

I like the convenience and versatility of the Keurig, especially in a workplace where you don't have to rely on (or be at the mercy of) the coffee preparation habits of your coworkers. I just can't get past the waste factor of the K-Cups.

I like a medium roast with a 'bite' to it. I use real cream, although I'll take half and half if that's all that's available. I'll drink it black before I'll use 'creamer' or that dreadful powdered stuff. If it's so bad that it needs sugar, I'll drink something else, though I'll sometimes take sugar in tea.

We have a DeLonghi DCM 900 or something. It looks like this:

We drink mostly stuff that I order from Stumptown, primarily Kenyan if in season.
Whole bean only, they mail it to me the same day it's roasted. We grind it fresh for each
pot, and 12 oz of beans usually lasts about 10 days to two weeks.
I take it either with a little Lactaid fat-free milk frothed with the immersion blender
(easy as hell homemade latte) and a splenda or just one splenda. Sometimes a little splash
of vanilla almond milk, but sometimes that gets old.
Coffee makes me happy, but I definitely don't drink it as much as I used to.
Right now, I'm (more often than not) doing a venti half-decaf over ice, half iced coffee with
two splenda from Starbucks, but they're all ornery about making it and about brewing
decaf after noon. Really? I'd think they'd sell more decaf after 12pm. But what do I know?
Some days, we find fun things in the bottom of our coffee cups and take pictures of them.

How do I take my coffee? Packed around my smuggled drugs. *rim-shot*

Seriously, when I drink coffee, it's in the Winter, and I use about half a cup of sugar with liberal doses of coffee-mate. (my father would kill me)
I just don't like coffee that much.

I prefer to bake with coffee. I made some killer cookies one year.

Btw, anybody tried the coffee grown in Hawai'i?

We have a fancy Cuisinart coffeemaker. It's supposed to be a combined grind and brew unit, but the grinder died a couple years ago. The coffeemaker component is still going strong, though. We have a separate burr grinder. I don't like my burr grinder, either. It's a Capresso. I miss my old Cuisinart burr grinder. We buy coffee from a variety of local roasters. I take my coffee with half and half. I have to have the cream to blunt the acidity of the coffee.

    Bear Cub Goes down smooth.

The only way I can drink it - mixed with so much flavored creamer that it no longer tastes like coffee.

I love coffee. I have a moka pot that I use, pretty much, every morning. It doesn't exactly make espresso, but it's close enough for home.

I like my coffee with some sugar and milk. When I am out for dinner, I really like a nice, strong espresso after dinner. Espresso, I will have with just a little bit of sugar.

I have a stovetop espresso pot (or 3):

I get beans from a local roaster (I can walk there from home), and go through a 1/2 kilo bag in about a month. Grind the beans just before use.

Today I had black with 1/2 teaspoon of sugar. Mostly I add milk and skip the sugar.

When I go out, I'm more likely to order a Cappuccino. One day I'll get a fancy machine for home.

Espresso, black with a tinge of sugar. I have my own espresso machine and enjoy having control over the taste - not to mention that I want my coffee as soon as I get up in my morning. One cup per day for years and years. About five months ago, I went into my 'sensitivity' phase, and have had none since then. This had happened three times in my life. I look forward to when I can drink it again.

got a manually operated burr grinder (it's Japanese?!) but it grinds the coffee nicely. Like it bold tasting and with some cream. Sugar leaves an aftertaste, so I prefer to stay away from the infamous double-doubles.

Starbuck's French roast is pretty well strait up my alley.

There's place near me that makes exquisite Americano - it's called Jet Fuel

    I go there alot: http://jetfuelcoffee.com/

Not much for me to input here but not letting that stop me this time. The smell of coffee is fine but I never drink the stuff. I can almost handle tea buried in sugar (tried some with a dementia client to be courteous and break the ice and it was almost tolerable) but even the frozen mocha things my wife gets from the coffee stands are killed for me by the coffee flavour

    I. Love. Jet Fuel.

I used to drop my kids at the Riverdale Zoo on a weekend morning for classes at the rec. centre and then wander over to Parliament Street for the morning paper and one of their lattes.

    A good day all around.

  17. Black coffee, please, and lot's of it! I brew it a little stronger than QW used to like, but she's come around, with the help of lot's of creamer and Stevia.
At work, we have a guy that we try to keep away from the coffee fixin's. If we notice that he's making the coffee, one of us sneaks behind and adds more grounds.

@ Charlatan: Riverdale Zoo ?! Did you go there as a kid, before it became just an urban farm? I remember the noisy bird house, the smelly monkey house and the polar bear who seemed to have gone insane, walking in circles under a pipe of water that was spraying into his concrete cell....

I usually drink decaf; about 5 years ago, I decided that I didn't like being dependent on caffeine, so I stopped.

I have my coffee in 2 ways: usually, I take it black, squeezed from an Aeropress when I am home. Back when I used to work in an office, I'd have cream and sugar, but the office coffee station would often run out of milk, so I'd have it black with sugar. The next office often ran out of sugar, so I learned to take it black.

When I'm out and at a Dunkin' Donuts or something similar, I like a skim milk latte with chocolate.

Black. I can't stand cream or sugar in my coffee.
As far as the wear or when, there's a little cafe here in town that I hit up more often than not when I'm out. I usually split what I make at home between beans I buy from them or beans from http://www.cookesfinefoods.com/coffee.html.

I work nights, so sometimes I'll hit Tim Hortons at 3am. Not because I like it, but because it's open.
