Pointless Announcements

Started to do a bad thing and read about this Buffy show on wikipedia, had to stop myself. I save that for awful movies or shows I have no intention of finishing watching, and not many make that cut but some do. Some even fail to make the "read what happens rather watch" list, the first live action G.I. Joe film managed that feat in less than 5 minutes; never went back to it, and not the slightest care how the "plot" goes.
Fortunately I already had a vague awareness of what happens to the town from my often peripheral awareness of tv shows and pop culture in general.
In any event, I came here just now to post that Sunnydale, California sounds like a bad place to move.

 

It's one of those nights. I'm super tired. Fall asleep on the couch. But as soon as I get in bed. Wide fucking awake. FUCK!

I love waking up to cold cat nose in my face.

 

These days I'm happy just to wake up.

 

Because of your accident? Were you injured?

 

I will be happy when the other 2/3 of my household will start sleeping regular hours. I don't have jetlag, but I am still suffering from its effects.

 

I'm just waiting for this kid to leave for the bus stop. Then I'm going back to bed.

 

I have some bruised ribs, some minor burns and am sore but overall I'm fine. Just been a long few weeks. The trips to Florida turned into a nightmare that included having to travel back to Oregon after my mom collapsed at Universal. One of the ladies in our group made my short time in Florida a living hell. I would have been happy to tell her to go fuck herself if she weren't, at the time, my SO's best friend from childhood. At present they work together, my SO is her boss, but are not speaking. I get to hear about this every night. I'm biting my tongue not to say "I didn't invite the crazy bitch." Once back home the wreck happened and it turns out I'm on my own to replace my truck as there's no such things as "uninsured motorists coverage" here. So since the other guy was drunk and thus at fault my insurance won't pay and he didn't have insurance.

Maybe I shouldn't be so happy about waking up?

 

Yikes. I'm sorry to hear all that.

 

At some stage in life I think everyone learns that it always works out. I won't say 'always for the best" but shit has a way of working out, it always does. This too will pass and someday be funny story I tell my grand kids. Currently I'm just not seeing the humor in it all but I'm guessing someday I will.

For now I'm headed to the gym. It's where I need to be.

Today is 2 year anniversary of mine and the hubby's meeting. Longest consecutive (ie No Off-On again, "lets take a break and then make up".

 

It's the first day of school back home, and my newsfeed is FULL of "first day of preschool" all the way to "first day of junior year." Good gracious.


It does make me want to go school shopping, though.

 

Just changed the ex's address in my Google contacts from my house to her apartment.

That was a little weird... but it's progress!

 

I am craving popcorn.

 

I'm going to Native Sun for lunch! Garlicky greens and quinoa cakes, w00t.
And, tonight is Ladies Night with my wimmen-friends. Starting at 4:30, ha ha.

 

Our cat Muffin comes to me every morning, nudges my face with her cold nose, then lies down comfortably on my head and places a paw very gingerly on my cheek. She seems to take my tolerance for this ritual as a sign of approval. She's so cute about it I don't have the heart to stop her.

 

I was, too.
I forget the name of it, but I found some popcorn that advertizes it's "movie popcorn".
It's already popped and ready to eat, but the chip-sized bag is made to be a one-time microwave bag that you can warm it up with.
So far I haven't microwaved it, but the popcorn tastes good room temp.
