One of our business customers told Lordeden that I was the most professional person he'd talked to on the phone in quite a while, and that it made an excellent first impression to have someone so professional, courteous, and polite answering the phones.

Yeah, I did a little dance. Go me

 

I flipped a cup of buffalo sauce all over my jeans and my cardigan.

That sounds bad, right? I was kinda pissed. But it all came off pretty easily, and the best part?

IT TOTALLY MISSED THE WHITE SHIRT I HAVE ON UNDERNEATH THE CARDIGAN.

I came across an ad I designed on glossy paper in a printed publication. That was pretty awesome.

 

I finished a Warrior Dash 5K yesterday. I met all my goals for myself:

-Finish the race
-Don't come in last
-Run at least part of it
-Complete all the obstacles as intended without assistance

For those more athletic than me, they might not be huge deals, but as someone with two bad knees and a bad hip trying to push myself into working harder in fitness, I'm really proud of myself. I'm sore, but happy.

 

Ran a 3.5 mile course in 21:38.
Convinced a trading partner to stay on something well, WELL below expected losses.
Took a step back from a time suck.

 

I got back up to 5k in my running. Now to keep it there.

 

This past week I joined a local 4H club of 12 youth members aged 11 to 18 and seven adult volunteers to ride the 184.5mi of the C&O Canal Towpath from Washington D.C. to Cumberland MD. Although three of the group members were forced to abandon the ride for various reasons along the way, all of us gave the trip everything we had, and it was definitely worth it.

 

I am my dogs' favorite person! It can be a bitch but there's nothing like waking up to them staring at you.. WILLING you to wake up for love and scratches.

 

Molly does that, too.

Of course, drool and heavy breathing enhance the success rate of willing me to wake.

I programmed a robot to move across a linoleum floor, stop when it got to the white tiles (using a light sensor), turn around, and come back to me. I was quite proud of myself.

 

Last night myself and one of my co-workers completely gutted a server room for a local school district and re-wired both closets from scratch. Every single Ethernet cable in that room was replaced (some as old as Cat3... -shudder-).
The Core Switch died while we were doing this, and we managed to troubleshoot it and get it back online.

No outages reported this morning.

I was on seat belt overtime, I wrote 7 seatbelt tickets. Which is a definite record for me. Its a low number, but it's something. BTW, it's not a primary offense in my state so you have to find a reason to pull them over, like no front plate. Then I went to a Department of Revenue hearing and ensured that a drunk I hooked back at the end of June did not get his license back. And all of this is overtime pay.

It's taken me more than two months, but I finally... FINALLY... have a completely working self-hosted e-mail server. Used iRedMail on Centos 6.4. Complete with STARTTLS security through SMTP and IMAP (for Thunderbird use) and SSL through a web interface.
Can finally *permanently* check that off of the list of things that I wanted to accomplish. I can now also actually go ahead and start using that e-mail address for important things.
