First of all, yes there is a thread discussing the trailer for the new movie that was just released.
This is for a broader discussion of the character. There is so much history in this fictional superhero and several venues he has seen over the years. Everything from obvious comparisons to the Jewish Golem to "This <insert film or tv series of choice> sucked horribly/was the best EVER because...."

My personal favourite out of all them is without a doubt the original radio show. In my biased opinion the cast was the best out of all the versions done, counting both the audio and visual options.
Clayton "Bud" Collyer was a well known radio announcer in his career (Cavalcade of America, etc, etc) but I think his best role was the dual role of Clark Kent/Superman. He does a wonderful job with the voice, using a a higher pitch for Clark and dropping to a natural baritone when he is Superman.
Jackson Beck is superb is the announcer/narrator, his voice is instantly recognisable as well for his part as announcer in The Cisco Kid and The Adventures of Philo Vance. (among others of course)
Joan Alexander plays Lois Lane perfectly.

For the tv shows, I recall liking the early 90's series with Dean Cain and Terri Hatcher when it first aired. No comment on Smallville as I have seen maybe two minutes of it total.

For the films I prefer the ones starring Christopher Reeves, and even like the sequels.

I liked the 2006 Superman film overall. The one thing from that film that I would have liked to see in a sequel is the obviously half human/half alien boy. It would be interesting to see what kind of powers he inherited from his father when he is fully matured and what "weaknesses" he inherited from his human mother.
There very likely might be a comic book line out there that explores this alternate timeline, but I would not know. The last Superman comic I read was probably in the 80's

I don't know where to begin, except that this is a deleted scene from Superman 4: The Quest For Peace

Not only is the music perfect, but if you don't lose your shit at the 2:21 mark, you don't know comedy.

O.O It was good to see Chris Reeve again, but jeeze Louise, I'm glad they left that out of there or it would have been more of a shit-stain than it already was.

Wow. I've never bothered to see Superman 4. I just could gather the will after 3. I don't even know what that was...

I am not optimistic about this mashup. This will likely be their first time trying out a new actor in the role of Batman. Many things could go wrong.

I've been wanting to see Superman and Batman team up on the big screen since I was a kid soooooo yeah I'm excited.

btw yes it wont be Bale, he's said he's done with the role. I liked Bale as Batman in the (semi-)realistic world of the Nolan trilogy but I'm also happy to move on (preferably to someone who doesn't use Bale's mouth full of marbles Batman voice).

Correction - Very easy, and I shall do this a wee bit later today. My body said "sleeeeep!" in a louder voice not long after I typed that, and then something about "sleep deprived" that I promptly ignored per standard protocol.

My head is going to hate me in a few hours and especially tomorrow, but cannot say I care right now. I hear as long as you get a 8 solid hours of sleep per work week you should fine.

Danke. Planning on making one next with all of the men that have portrayed the character starting from Bud Collyer on the radio all the way through the current actors in the big budget films.
