    First, FB oversharers--gag.

It does not sound 'shitty' to me that you enjoy and would like to keep enjoying the company of fellow child-free friends, DamnitAll.
I would say though that parents go through stages and mostly we do become less annoying. Most new parents are big sharers of all the stuff--especially now w/ FB, et al.
Once kids are adults-- truly on their own-- then they have relationships with their parents much like you may with yours, loving but nowhere near as (time) consuming. They build their own lives. They may have kids or like you, my younger brother and many others, not.

  2. I don't think it's an age thing necessarily.

When I was in Ohio, I was surrounded by friends my age with children. In Oregon, I don't have too many friends with children. It seems as if I will be the first in my core group of friends to have offspring. I kind of wish I was back in Ohio so that BabySquirrel would automatically have little friends and hanging out with my friends would be easier because they understand what it's like being a parent. The chids could entertain themselves while the mommies and daddies played.

And with the FB thing...I haven't announced that I am preggers on there.

    Indigo Kid Getting Tilted

Almost everyone I know who are in their 50s is unemployed with at least one college degree, most have advanced degrees. It's weird.

Also a lot of folks are dying in their fifties. Is there a correlation?
