I'm interested in getting a set of kettlebells to add to my lifting routine. What kind of exercises do you do with yours?

I love weightlifting. Best thing ever. Quick, easy, and great results!

I've taken some inspiration from this guy and the stuff he has going on. I think someone originally posted his Kettlebell Meltdown workout on some other thread here, and I was drawn to it instantly.

    Good stuff!!

I keep coming back to this post. Going outside to play is just as awesome as a regimented "I'm going to work out and burn calories/build muscle" plan. I used to take Benjen hiking all the time, and we both loved it. I don't think we've gone since Leia joined us...I need to make some time to start doing that again.

I'm also really looking forward to going to my mom's at the end of the month. She has a huge fenced in yard, and I run around with the dogs, kicking the soccer ball or throwing the frisbee with them. So much fun.

I walk the dogs and actively play with them.

I really really REALLY miss bellydancing. That was the most fun and also most tone I had ever had.

I love my aerial arts.. Silks, corde lisse, even pole a little bit. Also, acrobatics. I also love biking and weight lifting, but dancing in the air and climbing things is so much more fun!

I'm not too interested in team sports. I participated on the department's softball team for a year, but that was more of a social thing, a way to rub elbows with faculty and grad students. No, I'm more interested in setting personal bests. I love running. The rhythm of my feet and wind in my hair... I also enjoy swimming, but am not competitive. I adore mountain biking and hiking - seeing the same trail week after week... That's something I miss about Cali, living here in flat little Ohio. Walking with a friend is nice, too. I like stretching, dance, Pilates and yoga. I can sometimes be caught doing jumping jacks in the lab between experiments. Mainly I just love moving my body and being active.

I enjoy going on walks and taking pictures. The only team sport I have ever played and still follow is basketball but that was significantly less fun to actually play when my knees started to misbehave and the vertical dropped.

Exercise? Hmmm. I have a rather violent allergy to exercise... I'm breaking out in hives just thinking about it long enough to respond to the thread... While I have a great deal of admiration for those that can enjoy "exercise" planned or spontaneous - I'm quite happy being unhealthy thank you.

As someone who used to take back to back aerobics classes when I was much younger, and before a back injury, I sometimes miss exercise. I loved the machines I used in physical therapy, and the treadmill but have no access to that now, so I am limited to walking my dog when the weather permits.

I DID say it was when I was much younger. That was on the days that I was not in karate class. I used to be far more active than I am now.

I like to ride my bike. I wish it was easier to ride here. Aside from the obvious, that just about any exertion greater than a stroll gets you very sweaty (equatorial heat!!), there isn't much in the way of cycling infrastructure here... I can get there but then I don't have anywhere to lock up my bike. Luckily my office lets me keep my bike in the common area and they have a shower I can use. I have a road bike that I ride to work and also take on longer rides as well as a full suspension mountain bike that I don't ride nearly as much as I'd like to but once or twice a month is all I can muster these days. (I am looking forward to my upcoming trip to Canada to do some trail rides).

I like to run. I should say, however, that I lived most of my life hating running. Now, I actually like taking 30 to 40 minutes in the morning to just run and clear my head.

I like swimming. When I lived in a condo with a pool, I was in the pool at least five nights a week swimming laps. Now that I have to use the community pool (which is about 1km away) I don't swim nearly as much as I'd like to. I make up for it with running.

I did a triathlon last year and have done some 10k and 5k runs. I found it fun doing a mass event as opposed to just training alone. I've signed up for The Tour de Bintan in November. I am not nearly fit enough to do the full tour so I am just going to do a day trip and do 82km.

Me too. Although I add in the occasional fist shake or shoulder shrug combined with a head shake. After that I'm pretty winded and retire back to my couch for porn and chocolate.
