My wife simply adores that stuff. I wouldn't give a nickle for a truck load of the shit.

My girlfiend took me to del friscos for dinner. For me, because I'm such a picky eater, my preference is for a steak place. And steak houses tend to have larger proportions. I had a porterhouse, and the meat itself was prime. You could taste the texture and difference. The jalapeno macaroni and cheese was fantastic. But portions were also large, and I expect that from a steakhouse. The trick is to eat early enough in the evening so the bloated feeling passes before you try to go to sleep.

I don't think I've been to a restaurant that is considered fine dining. If I did, the portions were not small.

The smallest meal I have had at a restaurant was at a raw food place called Cafe Gratitude. Tiny portions that just didn't stick. I'm not a big fan of the raw food movement. Nature's Cafe does their raw menu items better - just give me a 12" diameter mixing bowl filled with salad and I'm good.

I've been to a couple of tapas places where they had small portions, but that was great because we could try all sorts of different flavors on a bunch of little plates... dim sum is the same idea. Come to think of it, I really like places with endless tiny portions. I need to do dim sum again.

I feel the same way. I'm indecisive, so if I can try a little bit of everything, I'm on board.

There is both good dim sum and good tapas in Toronto.

Also, you could go to Lee (a restaurant on King St.) where you get fine dinning and everything is small plates -- it's kind of dim sum/tapas meets fine dinning.

Both dim sum and tapas sound amazing.
