Inside the State Capitol where the State Reps vote for stuff and they can look at this old school painting with Old Abe Jr (stuffed Eagle)

 

All of these newfangled smart phones take some damn nice pictures. The pictures mine takes are "adequate" for a background at best but that is fine with me, I just use my DSLR and proper lens generally or my point and shoot in select circumstances.

 

Went to the Maple Lake dump today and the dump fellas assured me it was OK to back up my car to the refuse pile upon which Mama Bear is having her dinner. 'Sure', I said, then pulled the car well away from her and took a couple shots from the safety of my car. Meanwhile, several over-eager guys hustled right over to her. As I drove away I noticed her stopping eating and taking notice of them.... idiots.

We are in the middle of an atmospheric change. The heat wave has broken. A wall of thunderstorms travelling at 50 miles per hour rode through town with the cooler air. A real cloud show at sunset was apparent even nestled down here surrounded by trees and houses. The yellow/peach evening sky caught my eye. The light became very intense. A wall of dark cloud surrounded by deep blue sky off to the west. And high, high overhead some very cool mammutus clouds. Only got 1 pick w my phone before running in to grab my real camera. I lost a bit of the best of the show on those couple of minutes. But so nice to see it right over top of me
