I recently quit a hot yoga studio to join another studio (Baptist flow) which I have found to be so much fun. I am only able to go three days a week but hope to boost it up in a month or so.

I'm up to 6 mile walks now and found a walking club. They do up 12miles in a day.

I did a six mile walk the other day, I think it was a bit of an ambitious start getting back into my Vibrams, my calves were sore. A walking club would be nice though. Recently, my Fitbit has been motivating me to get up and walk around more at the office, and take walks during my lunch break.

The Blerch is not gonna catch me today. Got up and ran this morning (my not-a-fanny-pack thing is awesome), and then did the 4 mile aerobics workout when I got home. Kept calories within range, and I am feeling good.

    Take that, Monday.

Tonight's boot camp class hosted a new instructor who was kind enough to compliment me on the form on my burpees.

    That felt kind of awesome.

  8. Isn't it amazing how motivating a Fitbit is? I've become addicted to taking walks during the day. Not quite sure what I'll do in the winter.

There is a game called Geocaching that will get you out and walking. It's a lot of fun.

I've been exercising so much lately that there are days where I have to drink a large bottle of really delicious beer just to keep my deficit away from epic territory.

    S'alright.

Beer is a scientifically proven beneficial post-exertion recovery drink.

    Just saying.

Benched 315 for 9 reps. A long term goal of mine is to be able to bench 315 for ten, consistently. Then I might retire to do some crocheting or something similar.

Day 5 back in the gym, just doing Nordic Trak until I can't feel my legs well. I'm up to 40m from 10% - 50% incline.
Feels good. Only came close to passing out the first 3 days. Now I just feel drunk by the time I get done.

I have walked my feet off in Toronto. Looking forward to getting home and back to my usual diet. Culinary adventures are great for a while, but my digestive tract can't take much more.

Agrees with the sentiment ^^^ I only quit gluten because of constant intestinal irritation which is somewhat alleviated with gluten-free. Weird diets can work, but mainly because they limit calories, up until the time your inner fatty finds a way to eat more, even with the new restrictions. ( My inner fatty is not so inner ). The wife is being coached into a stricter diet for health reasons. There's no reason for someone without health issues to be so restricted.

On a health related note, I've checked a gym that I'm probably going to join. They have all the equipment I need, a pool, whirlpool, and sauna, plus I can take MMA classes. It's twice what I pay for Planet Fitness, but I think it will be worth it.

People in the US have been taught to eat the wrong way and then are made to feel bad for the way they look. 2 little quotes: You are what you eat and Fast food is neither fast nor food.

I can agree with this to a point. I am certainly not one to advocate a diet but really, portion control is as much a part of the problem in the West as the things that are being eaten. When I go back to Canada or the US these days I am blown away by the quantity of food that people are served in the name of value. Fuck me! Just give me less and charge me less.

In Singapore I can eat out for less than $5 and get fresh, real food and the portion isn't enough to feed three of me (also, meat is a condiment rather than the focus).

Here, either you get too much cheap food, or not enough expensive food, so you'll either be too fat, or too dissatisfied. Or both, really
