It'll happen, it will. My plan when I booked this trip was to see if a few folks in the area wanted to do something. Then around New Years my mother invited herself out of the blue, which both pleased and surprised me. I haven't been on a vacation with my mother since I was 13. She spent the last 30 years or so taking care of my dad who suffered ill effects from polio he'd had as a kid. He really could not walk much and needed constant care. Now she's trying to get out to see and do stuff she missed. But she's a little needy. Who knows maybe spending most of your adult life caring for someone takes it's toll or makes you feel like now you need cared for, don't know. I know she went to NY with my niece last fall and I heard she was a full time job. I guess half way through a Broadway show she decided she needed taken back to the room. I'm glad she's coming along but I am a bit concerned.

I'll not pretend not to care about this any further. It's too humiliating. I get it, really I do.

 

I just ate an entire can of sweet peas. I feel like I'm gearing up for an Exorcist remake.

Sometimes I'm reading these threads and I end up chuckling in a really creepy way.
My roommate is very drunk. Apparently, she had extreme abdominal pain and only 3/4 of a bottle of nasty wine was the cure.
She's one of those talkative, goofy, lushy drunks.
I have to get up at 5:15. Hooray.

In other news, I ended up splitting an ice-cold watermelon with some friends on my porch this evening, and just now I finished a frozen Snickers.

my oldest daughter moved her workspace out to the living room tonight...and i just came to appreciate that there is a triangulation of my blood sending things out on the internet as i type this...and that it's a very good thing.
