Pointless Announcements

94 on my exam today.
Finished my tobacco cessation module.
Worked for about an hour on my final CPF.
And now I am thinking...mah-gah-ree-tah.

 

Got out of work late at 5:20. In that hour and change I've been to and from the laundromat, gone shopping for food for the next 2 weeks (ish), and had dinner, all with time to spare before CCCB.

So *this* is that mythical 'productivity' thing that people are always going on about.

 

Sore throat? Check.

 

My bruise of the week story (this one is actually still making me go WTF how did this happen): Fell out of a white plastic chair in the process of trying to grab one of my dog's collars. Turns out they had put 2 of their chewing bones under my chair at some point after I sat down. My ass went down on the pointy end of one. Hurt like hell, but tried to shake it off. Didn't realize until after we came back from our walk that it'd ripped my pants, gave me a nice puncture and some scrapes. Guess I am glad I had changed out of my work pants?

I called my husband to tell him that when he came home, I needed him to check my ass.

 

Same here. Only Freetofly and I call it "work."

 

Today I learned: Pandas look like they are extremely stoned... and lovin it.

 

Early bed. Have this super-secret lab event tomorrow where they will stick me in a room with a sim and make it do things that I am supposed to respond to.
In a nurse-y way, you perverts.
ha, just kidding, I was thinking that, too, when I wrote it. but, no.
anyway, pah, they don't scare me. bring. it. on.

 

I had a friend who used to role play for interns at our local hospital. She would be given a scenario and would play it out. She was frequently asked to play the young lady that comes onto the doctor.

 

Realizing that I can hit all of the notes to Elton John's "Yellow Brick Road" makes me a little bit more confident in my vocal abilities.

 

Two healthy pups who were extraordinarily patient at the vet today. And they didn't break my wallet too much. Huzzah!

Also: we switched heartworm meds, and Benjen's pill is HUGE. Wrapped that sucker up in a piece of ham, and he never even noticed it. Sa-weet.

 

I need for this muscle relaxer to kick in soon.
My head is going to assplode. And it's going to be messy.
The semispinalis capitis and splenis capitis on both sides of my head are locking down on my occipital nerves
and the levator scapulae are so tight, my head can barely turn.

 

Started to type Taylor Dayne in the youtube search bar and the first name shown is Taylor Swift. As if. Taylor Dayne has a better voice by far is better looking (for whatever that is worth).

 

Oh, I am farrrrrr tooo familiar with that feeling. I've head that exact same headache for the last 6+ years. I haven't figured out why I cant' get those muscles to relax, but I've tried just about everything I can think of. (therapy, pills, nerve ablation, contraptions and gizmos, injections and did I mention pills?) I think I need about 6 months vacation from life...

 

This part comes and goes, made worse by florescent lights, heat, or stress.
I've had a headache of some form for three years and four months.
Migraine, cluster, tension, and barometric-pressure-related.
It sucks.

Coach-pitch youth baseball was thrilling last night, with my son's team getting into the championship round with a walk-off double with two outs in the bottom of the 7th with two outs. My kid went 0-3 with 3 strikeouts and played catcher so that he wasn't a liability in the field. But he did cheer all of his teammates louder than anyone else and gave a lot of high fives.

 

Ha. Well, it will be nothing like that. I imagine they will simply put me into a scenario and give me symptoms to interpret and then communicate to the patient's physician - heart rate, bp, lung/bowel sounds, etc - and then come up with some interventions for. I feel confident. And I'm outta here.
