    I had a sort-of salad: Gardein, guacamole, and co-jack on spinach. It was tasty.

    Slab of ribs at a Benningans. Kind of meh. But the restaurant was within walking distance from the hotel and I don't feel like driving anywhere tonight. Nice evening for a walk.

    Best of all, the waitress brought me two moist towelettes.

    I can't take it anymore! I must confess something now. I have a food-crush. Every time I think of Borla or read anything he's written, I feel hungry. Usually for an inordinately, cartoonishly large piece of red meat.

    BBQ pork chops, started in the (toaster) oven and finished in a skillet for crust. Not bad for a first attempt.

    In other news, the shade over the lone light in my apartment is salmon-colored. In this light I'm lead to mis-interpret pork as being horribly underdone when in reality it's cooked to a perfect white-but-juicy doneness.

    Tonight I fixed herbed pork tenderloin on the grill. Fresh rosemary, fresh thyme and garlic. It was great. But what was way over the top was the potato mushroom gratin that I also put in the grill, thinly sliced potatoes, mushrooms and garlic, with a sprig of fresh rosemary. It was phenomenal. Also corn on the cob and warmed three cheese bread.

    Sometimes it's a roll of the dice with a new recipe. Sometimes it's a roll of the dice when it's on the grill. Tonight it all clicked. A great meal.

    I had fish tacos for dinner. There wasn't a lot of fish in them. I probably would have felt cheated if I hadn't inhaled the plate in 38 seconds.
