I was called in for a job interview on Monday! This is very rare to get a chance to be interviewed for a fulltime vacancy.

I'm too excited now and hope not to spoil this opportunity, albeit I had wished I could get more permanent position in my current job. At the moment there is only substituting the vacations. Next year one of my colleagues is retiring and I'm pretty sure I could get his job, if they fill it, but that's the uncertain part, since they've been downsizing. They might not take anyone in his place.

This new job requires being able to serve customers in Finnish, Swedish and English. I don't think English will be a problem, Swedish I haven't spoken actively for a while. I know I can manage given time, but we live in the region, where there are plenty of bilingual people, who speak both languages and usually they favor the Swedish speaking in recruiting, even though their Finnish would be less adequate.

I was able to throw in some skills in understanding German and French as well, but I guess it's all down to interview now.

How exactly does one flip an 18-wheeler, land it sideways across the entire road, and have it come to rest with the cab hanging off the overpass... On fire?

 

Its finally Friday...what a long, annoying week...

 

felt the cooler weather this morning while I was outside watering plants - so much better than pushing a broom inside when it is still feels nice enough - and was filled with anticipation for the impending knee discomfort that will no doubt be coming soon. So much fun.

 

*shocking news* my three year old got two spots wet on her dress from playing around the kiddie pool and had to immediately change.

 

Like I am going to perform any major computer/server changes on a Friday. I think I shall name this day Read-Only Friday.

 

Trying not to stress out over yet another thing "not going my way". I still kick ass. I keep talking to myself to say this. Maybe I have bigger problems.

Gonna start drinking my way through Portland for my Birthday. Wishing I had a reason to stop by the Benson.

 

Been on the longest walk in years. Very tired and very happy. Let's hope I survive the night, then I'll be very relieved too.

I hate my spanish class and it has nothing to do with having to learn spanish (which is actually kind of fun).

And one of the three chicks at work that does what I do...and that's three chicks to cover seven days a week, 12 hour days...has up and quit. And now I am being asked to cover more hours...which would be fine if I wasn't also immersed in four courses this semester.

It has also impinged on my Jacksonville plans...grrrr. When I think about that, I have flashes of throttling the girl. But she's nice, i like her, and i certainly understand wanting to get the hell out of there.

so, I live.

I had some yummy food at a Portland Japanese Steakhouse and really enjoyed the toilets. I feel so fresh and so clean.

I also think I have a new fantasy in one of those little private rooms at the Japanese steakhouse. I'm thinking I may need to take someone there sometime for some private dining.

Ugggg. I think I'm just birthday horny.
