    CinnamonGirl The Cheat is GROUNDED!

Getting up early (ish) on Sunday gives me that "we're going somewhere fun and awesome for the entire day" feeling-- Renn Fest or Kings Island or the zoo or something. I guess that just shows how seldom I get up before noon on Sunday.

Not doing any of those today, unfortunately.

I was just looking at the James Gandolfini thread (spelling?, not looking it up if that is off) and it reminded me of an amusing thing when Fallen was first released.
If my memory serves, I was in a Wendy's in Jacksonville, FL and started to quietly sing "Time is on My Side" like you see in the film when Azazel is using somebody. One of the people around me got this priceless look on their face like I was about to do something truly awful. :D

That film and Jeepers Creepers ruined two great songs for me for a long time.

About two weeks ago our sink stopper in one of the bathrooms broke.

The tip of the pivot rod snapped at what is the very left tip in the diagram below.

So the stopper either had to be all the way in (making the sink useless unless you want it to hold water), or had to be pulled out and sat on the counter to allow water to drain and the sink to be used for washing hands or the like.

Last night the handle arm snapped from the handle in toilet in our master bath. (See the handy dandy diagram below)

Apparently picking up the $14 worth of parts it takes to fix both problems, and then spending the 12 minutes it took to fix them, is a turn on.

    Who knew.

Working bathroom appliances is a pretty fabulous thing.

(My sink has been like that for months. The stopper is in the drawer. I only use it when I need to hand wash things.)

I've been meaning to take apart my sink and clean up all the gunk and hair that's probably festering inside of there since who knows the last time anyone did that to this sink.

My husband was a plumber's apprentice before he got into IT. It's fabulous :D

Though.. I will say I felt pretty wicked the first time I replaced a stopper/valve set.

Come on now, I'm not THAT bad. ;)

But if it's the same thing I'm talking about I could probably walk you through it in five minutes (minus you running to an Ace or Menard's for the $5 in parts), and depending on the hardware you wouldn't even need any tools.

I can't seem to work up the enthusiasm. My sink works fine w.out the stopper. Besides, if it were that dire, I'd just call in the maintenance guy. He's busy enough with actual important stuff.

I've fixed the toilet at work maybe three times now. It's stupid simple but judging by the awed looks I get from the interns, I may as well be Rambo cleaning a flesh wound with lit gunpowder.
