My six year old used to do the cutest little dance whenever the opening credits of MASH came on. This was when she had just learned to walk.
Even better was hearing her say "hey that's me!" when she saw the drawing of Alan Alda in the desktop background showing the cast of the show. Her middle name was taken directly from "Hawkeye" Pierce.

My daughter used to announce "those are my numbers!" every time the news would show the winning lottery numbers. She was about four at the time but knew having money would mean having things she wanted. Oh man was she bummed to find out she needed to choose her numbers before the drawing took place. I remember her looking at me and asking very seriously "then how are you suppose to know what numbers are going to win?"

Watching the video for Fountains of Wayne "Stacy's Mom" and my thoughts turn to how the young daughter in the video is easily young enough to be my daughter at my current age and that Rachel Hunter was a tad younger than I am now when she did that video.

My patient today doesn't want to do anything but lie in his room with the lights out and watch TV. I've sort of prided myself on being able to get the patients I'm assigned to to open up to me. I have a bit of a reputation now among my fellow students because after spending a day with a patient, they have usually managed to tell me their life story...and cried at least once. Not this guy. Oh well, he's really nice, though, and I can tell he has stories.

I am so ready for Star Trek Renegade to be released. It has been far too many years since there has been a good Star Trek production worth watching to hit the movie theatre or TV. I use that term for this new online project as well as it looks like they are making a product more than worthy of network television. Enterprise was decent but lacking to put it nicely in several respects. The last film in 2002 was "OK enough" even with the hokey way of bringing Data back but still a long wait.

There are times I will gladly admit when I am wrong. There is a new series called "Star Trek Continues". Their goal is to finish showing the original 5 year mission from TOS. The actors do a good job and the producers capture the feel and look of the 1960's series.

Yesterday I encountered a young woman- an ebony-skinned goddess with a smile so radiant- I forgot I was married and actually began to flirt with her.

Within ten seconds I regained my senses and became all business, which is fortunate- because had this vision of loveliness experienced one of my smouldering glances, she would delve deep into her soul and realize she could never love anoth-

    BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

I'm really sorry- I honestly thought I could type that with a straight face.

    Carry on!

I cannot believe so many people "liked" this post. You were all supposed to go "Oh no Borla, you really ARE that cool, your wife is all wrong for not seeing it!"

How people intentionally and consistently choose to drink and enjoy Coors Light I'll never understand.

It does seem like it's a case of "I don't like beer that much, but I want to get drunk and don't want to spend too much."

Or I already had four micros and can't taste it anyway but I want to keep drinking.

Feeling a bit tired like as if I did not get enough actual sleep today. Getting ready to head to work early and staying up all night sounds like the perfect solution for this situation. /Said no one ever/

  18. Had no idea that re-setting up my server would involve physically re-seating the SATA connectors on the motherboard. Cheap e-Machines piece of crap...

On the other hand, it's up and running now :D

In other news, I have three pizza boxes in my refrigerator. Domino's really shouldn't let me in when they're having selling $5.99 2-topping large pizzas...

A friend got through putting together one of those Walmart above-ground pools today and got himself a Coors Light afterward.
After he came back out with it, he said in passing that it was to quench his thirst and he didn't even like it.
I said why not water and he said water left him thirsty. Since I don't drink, I just shrugged it off.
