    I've been on a HUGE Silversun Pickups kick lately. I don't know what it is, but their lower-tempo stuff always seems to just put me in a good mood. Their song "Melatonin" in particular is my "Chill the eff out" song when I know I'm having a bad day, or when I want to make a good day even better.

    My Last Days: Zach Sobiech "Clouds" Celebrity Music Video


    Zach Sobiech is 17 years old and diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer that takes the lives of a large percent of its childhood victims. Given only months to live, Zach turned to music to say goodbye. His song "Clouds" spread, and soon, Zach's message was heard across the country. We wanted to help Zach spread his message, and bring awareness to increase support for finding a cure. So, we asked our friends to help out...they did.

    Listening to a LP from The Statesman Quartet, in the much more convenient digital transfer that I did myself once upon a time. This has the perfect amount of vinyl pop and crackles in it. Shaking my head at seeing "MP3" for a "master copy" but at least I was smart enough to burn the WAV files on CD before erasing them.

    She played the DC club circuit -- Blues Alley, Childe Harold, the Bayou, (Mick) Fleetwoods -- and died of cancer six months after the Blues Alley recording.

    Sadly, the recognition came posthumously.
